Michael Kors Blake North South Crocodile Embossed Satchel.jpg

I’m rather disappointed in myself that it took me this long to write about one of my all-time favorite designers, Michael Kors. In my defense, I did write about a pair of fabulous Michael Kors Bromley Boots on our TalkShoes site not long ago. Admittedly, I got so sidetracked with other fabulous bags that I forgot to talk about one of my favorites, but how could you blame me? Since I started this internship, it’s become clear that the world of handbags is nearly endless, and sometimes deciding on a bag to write about is fairly time-consuming (but definitely worth the time). I hope this Michael Kors Blake Satchel Bag will make up for me not covering an amazing designer sooner.

The crocodile embossing and black-leather detailing are a sensational duo on this north-south satchel. The golden hardware throughout gives it a beautiful, polished finished, and how can we forget the iconic key and lock hardware? It’s what makes a Michael bag, a Michael bag. While bags similar to this one can be seen on many handbag lovers, no two bags ever look the same. There is always a change of some sort on each of his handbags, giving each bag a personal touch by Michael himself. My favorite aspect of this bag is its structure. It can be worn to the office, to class, or out on a date, essentially making it the perfect day-to-night handbag. I tend to gravitate to any Kors-related products because I know I will always find something I admire. and as a result, the compliments will always be rolling in my direction. Now what girl doesn’t love that? Buy your Blake satchel at Neimanmarcus.com for $1195.

Loved this bag when I first laid eyes on it. But after testing it out at Nordstrom, the structure just doesn’t hold up (it collapses). Michael is doing a better job at keeping his branding understated on his newer items. I’m liking what I’ve seen so far. But, for the money, I prefer buying from a designer that has their handbags made in Italy, not China.

I totally agree. A couture line should not be made nor put together in
china (That’s like an oxymoron). Micheal’s collection line bleeds heavily into his off the runway
line (Michael by Michael ). That needs to stop. I
mean the two collection at times can literately be identical (ex the beverly collection). Its like someone got lazy and said
“Ok just take the runway collection from last season and reintroduce it
to the Michael by Michael kors”. Some of the more unique pieces are
coming from the Michael by Michael kors (Ex: Hamilton)I have the blake
and the littleton on my list but since you said it collapses KoryW I think I
might have to pass and wait for it to go on sale. At one point I loved
the Gia and tried it out at Nordstrom…OMG Epic fail made me look old
and I look like a teenager lol- Sorry about the long comment. I really do love michael kors I just wish I would see a stronger couture/runway handbag line that is set apart from its michael by Michael Kors counter part.

    Love Michael Kors fall line

I recently tested a few Michael Kors handbags at Nordstrom (sorry, I do not remember which line it was). They are nicely designed, and I like the colors, but the leather he uses is just awful. Really, it is the cheapest leather! It is not very nice to touch it – and lets face it, this is why we all like leather so much. I was not impressed, his handbags are completely overpriced. I do like Mr. Kors on Project Runway though.

    Beautiful!

The handbag shown looks like a Hermes knockoff. Michael Kors had some wonderful, hip bags last season and even last summer. I would expect more.
