We’ve known for several months that Chanel has plans to expand its retail presence on its official website, and yesterday, we got the first peek at what the brand has in store. Via Chanel.com, you can now browse and buy a large selection of sunglasses, which is one step closer to the online handbag sales we’re so desperately hoping will one day appear.
For now, the sunglasses are plenty to look at. The site offers almost 250 options, all categorized by both frame shape and arm embellishment. The brand’s sunnies aren’t currently available for purchase online anywhere else, which marks this as new territory for the brand’s digital shopping endeavors; previously, Chanel had only sold beauty and fragrance on its own site, which had long been available online from third-party retailers.
There’s still no guarantee that the brand has any plans to offer handbags for sale online, but this development keeps our hope alive. Take a look at our ten favorite pairs from the new sunglasses shop below and peruse the full selection via Chanel. (Find something you like? Shipping is complimentary.)
My favorites are the ones with the leather camellias on the arms. I’ve been ousting after those for months. But that price tag!!
Not sure if I could get away with it, but I adore the round ones with the pink pearls.
I love the round ones, but they truly wouldn’t look good on me!
I really like the square Bijou style but seriously have a problem buying anything from Chanel based on their crappy repair policy… The first thought I had in seeing this post is “will they stand behind the glasses if something breaks, etc.?” I know it’s apples and oranges between the handbags and accessories, but still…
Those round pink sunglasses are too gorgeous! I just can’t justify paying that much for something so trendy though. I’ve learned that sunglasses are one of the things that can go out of style in just a few years-so I have to be really careful with these type of accessory purchases:P
So pretty!!! I really like the first pair and Cat Eye Quilting. The pink pair is really interesting.
Sunglasses are so hard to buy though when you can’t try them on in person. I’m sure I’d go through a couple of exchanges before I found something right for my face.
