After a few seasons, it’s clear: Raf Simons is pretty good at this whole handbag thing, despite the fact that had limited experience with it before taking the reins at Dior, and certainly not on the broad level that such a brand requires. Dior’s Fall 2014 handbags are his best yet, with easy, luxury-minimal riffs on the Lady Dior and Diorissimo shapes that include everything from tweaked structures to blurry-striped crocodile. The bags are bold, modern and totally gorgeous.
What struck me most, though, is that the collection’s clutches are just as enticing as its day bags, which rarely happens at a brand as big as Dior. The simple envelope styles are accented with jeweled floral vines, which are just enough to make them feel like little pieces of hand-carried jewelry without detracting from the carefully executed minimalist shape. Everything going on here is totally excellent.

These really are beautiful!
The chains are a bit too overwhelming for the shoulder bags and I find that big yellow one a little…odd. Everything else is beautiful. Those jeweled clutches are simply stunning. Great statement piece for a simple dress and pumps.
Just fab !!!
Amanda, care to venture a guess on the next IT bag ? there are a few good contenders here.
You know, I’ve been thinking recently that a convincing argument could be made that Chanel Boy Bags have recently achieved It Bag status. Chanel is too big and well-known of a brand for them ever to be as scarce and mysterious as the Celine Luggage Totes were, but for as many bags as Chanel turns out every season, they sure can be hard to track down.
Funny you should mention the Boy Bags – I have seen loads on women who care about fashion, a lot more than the classic Chanel. As for scarcity … it’s a bit of a myth, I think.
Lovely. Structured without looking look your granny’s handbag.
Wow. Just, wow.
Soo beautiful ! And those clutches, wauw !
Did we just go back in time with those designs? The Collection is just Disappointing…made for my 80yr old grandma!
Boring , very Raf Simmons
