New York Fashion Week has (almost) come to another close, and while we’ve got more coverage of the bags we saw on the runways on the way, we first wanted to look back at the bags that paparazzi captured outside the shows–those on the arms of the week’s most famous attendees. Take a look at the dozens upon dozens of notable bags we found below. (Spoiler alert: mini bags are in.)
Gigi Hadid
Saint Laurent Sac de Jour Tote
$2,990 via Bergdorf Goodman
Gigi’s only been a model for a hot second, but she’s already starting to sit front row at shows instead of walk in them.
Hanneli Mustaparta
Prada Mini Promenade Bag
$1,060 via Bergdorf Goodman
“Bags too small to carry anything” are the new must-have, apparently.
Harley Viera-Newton
Mark Cross Grace Box Bag
$2,195 via Barneys
This will not be the last Grace Box Bag you see today.
Jessica Hart
Edie Parker Flavia Clutch
Shop Edie Parker via Neiman Marcus
This isn’t a great view on the bag, but we could spot that signature acrylic from a mile away.
Karlie Kloss
Chanel Classic Flap Bag
This bag is among Karlie’s favorites; she’s carried it on and off for years.
Kelly Bensimon
Céline Tie Tote
This shade of grey is so lovely that, for the first time, I actually like the Tie Tote.
Kendall Jenner
Céline Nano Luggage Tote
Considering how many bags Kendall surely gets sent for free, it’s impressive how loyal she is to this one.
Leigh Lezark
Longchamp x Jeremy Scott Le Pliage Bag
Longchamp and Jeremy Scott have an ongoing collaboration and VIPs at Scott’s shows generally receive the new seasonal prints as gifts.
Alina Cho
Mark Cross Grace Box Bag
$2,195 via Barneys
This Mark Cross bag is a totally adorable mini trunk, and its mix of minimalism and traditionalism have made it a favorite among fashion people.
Barbara Walters
Ralph Laurent Ricky Bag
$2,500 via Neiman Marcus
Barbara and her ever-present Ricky were on hand to Peter Copping’s first collection at Oscar de la Renta.
Aimee Song
Chloé Elle Bag
$1,273 via MATCHESFASHION.COM
Many of the style bloggers outside NYFW shows have opted for outfits inappropriate for the literally face-numbingly cold weather in New York over the past week. Aimee looks refreshingly appropriate here. It’s best to break out the spring bags before the spring dresses.
Alexa Ray Joel
Valentino C-Rockee Fringe Tote
$2,995 via MATCHESFASHION.COM
Fashion Week just looks prettier through the lightly falling snow.
Alina Cho
Hermès Constance Bag
Alina might have been at a Prada party, but she had her Hermès in tow.
AnnaSophia Robb
Mark Cross Grace Box Bag
$2,195 via Barneys
This bag feels like it’s one or two really great seasonal versions away from becoming very popular.
Chiara Ferragni
Fendi Micro Peekaboo Bag
$1,700 via Nordstrom
These teeny-weeny runway bags are sure to show up on many more street style stars as fashion month continues. (Chiara’s isn’t even the only one in this gallery.)
Chrissy Teigen
Chanel Vintage Maxi Flap Bag
A vintage Chanel bag from this era is a solid choice in weather that’s less than ideal; so many of them have survived for decades that you have to assume they are indestructible.
Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis
Anya Hindmarch Big Eyes Pouch
$381 via MATCHESFASHION.COM
Yes, this is a princess and Vogue columnist with a septum piercing. It’s a strange new world we live in.
Ella Catliff
Kate Spade Scallop Edge Tote
Shop Kate Spade via Nordstrom
Ella’s the blogger behind La Petit Anglaise, and her personal style tends toward the girlish and fun–Kate Spade is a perfect fit.
Ella Catliff
Sophie Hulme Shopper Tote
$850 via Nordstrom
Ella’s also British, and the Brits tend often to hold loyal to their London brands.
Erykah Badu
Fendi Peekaboo Bag
$4,500 via Barneys
Fendi kicked of NYFW by hosting a star-studded party for its new Madison Avenue flagship, and naturally, all the celeb attendees were decked out in Fendi.
Gigi Hadid
Chanel Wallet On Chain Bag
If you’re a show-hopping supermodel, a little bag like this is all you need–you can stow your snacks and supplies in your chauffeured car.
Hailee Steinfeld
Fendi Petite 3Baguette Bag
$2,550 via Barneys
The 3Baguette is Fendi’s big bag launch for Spring 2015–expect to see them distributed among stars accordingly.
Hailee Steinfeld
Prada Vachetta Shoulder Bag
$2,350 via Bergdorf Goodman
Somehow, all of the colors going on in this outfit and beauty look manage to work.
Helena Bordon
Prada Vachetta Lock Shoulder Bag
$2,350 via Bergdorf Goodman
Fendi Micro Peekaboo Bag
$1,700 via Nordstrom
Bag or bag charm? When it comes to the Fendi Micro Peekaboo, you decide.
Jourdan Dunn
Fendi 3Baguette Bag
$2,550 via Bergdorf Goodman
Kate Bock
Saint Laurent Mini Sac de Jour Bag
$1,990 via Nordstrom
For how popular these bags are with celebrities, I was surprised not to see more on their arms at NYFW.
Khloé Kardashian
Saint Laurent Monogramme Matelasse Clutch
$1,290 via Nordstrom
Bless the Kardashians, for they are consistent.
Kristin Cavallari
Chanel Boy Bag
In the interest of transparency: I’m not totally sure that Kristin was going to or coming from a Fashion Week event in this photo, but her bag seemed worthy of inclusion.
Kristina Bazan
Saint Laurent Lulu Mini Shoulder Bag
$1,763 via MyTheresa
Let this be a lesson: do not forgo a coat on the coldest day of the year in hopes of looking cool. You will not look cool.
Leigh Lezark
Givenchy Nightingale Bag
$1,965 via Net-a-Porter
This look happened on that same, very cold day, and you can see Leigh’s unhappiness in her face, no matter how hard she’s trying to hide it.
Leigh Lezark
Fendi 3Baguette Bag
$2,550 via Barneys
Leigh certainly is brave (is “brave” the word?) when it comes to short skirts in cold weather.
Margaret Zhang
Givenchy Lucrezia Bag
$2,490 via farfetch.com
When we have to choose between a good shot of someone’s face and a good shot of someone’s bag, we choose the bag.
Mary J. Blige
Chanel Classic Flap Bag
Mary J. Blige does not have time or patience for being cold, unlike many of the women swanning around outside the shows.
Mary J. Blige
Gucci Python Jackie Soft Tote
$3,900 via Gucci
I wish our photo agency had more pics of Mary, because it seems like her taste in bags is fantastic.
Michelle Trachtenberg
Alice + Olivia Flap Clutch
Shop Alice + Olivia via Neiman Marcus
Going outside in this weather always manages to dry my skin out immediately, but somehow, Michelle still looks dewy.
Naomi Campbell
Fendi Micro Peekaboo Bag
$1,700 via Nordstrom
Somehow, Naomi never ages.
Nicole Warne
M2Malletier Fabricca Clutch
$1,290 via Net-a-Porter
Nicole’s another of the style bloggers who appears to be regretting not strapping on a puffy coat.
Pat Cleveland
Fendi Baguette Bag
$2,650 via Net-a-Porter
Pat rose to supermodel status in the 70s, which makes this Baguette particularly appropriate.
Petra Nemcova
Fendi Mini By The Way Bag
$2,350 via Bergdorf Goodman
Fendi now makes so many different sizes, colors, variations and embellishments of its signature bags that I always feel like there are dozens I have yet to see.
Petra Nemcova
Prada Double Bag
$2,890 via Bergdorf Goodman
Petra is a Prada devotee; this seems like at least the third season in a row that we’ve caught her arriving to a show with a new Prada day bag.
Rachel Zoe
Balenciaga Le Dix Clutch
$1,025 via MATCHESFASHION.COM
If I had this coat, I wouldn’t take it off until April.
Rihanna
Fendi 3Baguette Bag
$4,300 via Bergdorf Goodman
Fendi asked five celebrities to create their own 3Baguettes for a charity auction; this one is Rihanna’s. (Duh.)
Rosario Dawson
Fendi Baguette Bag
$5,350 via Fendi
It’d be hard to argue that celebrity dressing doesn’t work as a marketing tactic; looking at all these gorgeous, unique Fendi bags has made me want one even more.
Sarah Jessica Parker
Fendi 3Baguette Bag
Bid via Fendi
Sarah Jessica was another of the celebs chosen to design their own 3Baguettes.
Sarah Silverman
Alice + Olivia Box Clutch
Shop Alice + Olivia via Neiman Marcus
I’m always delighted when a celebrity who isn’t necessarily a fashion-favorite actress or singer shows up at a show and looks totally fab.
Shanina Shaik
Louis Vuitton Neverfull Bag
Forget the bag; I’m interested in this lovely, snuggly-looking coat.
Shea Marie
Fendi Petite 2Jours Bag
$2,350 via Bergdorf Goodman
It’s hard to make red, pink and orange all work together, but Fendi’s color-mixing somehow always works.
Sofia Coppola
Fendi Tube Wallet Clutch
$1,100 via Bergdorf Goodman
Sofia usually only shows her face at Fashion Week on the request of Marc Jacobs, but Karl Lagerfeld is quite convincing.
Susie Bubble
Louis Vuitton V Bucket Bag
$4,100 via Louis Vuitton
Susie’s aesthetic tends to be angular, modern and colorful, so although this bag feels like a demure choice for her, it doesn’t compete with her outfit.
Susie Bubble
Mansur Gavriel Canvas Backpack
$675 via Barneys
Another straightforward, slightly preppy choice from a blogger who is usually anything but. Again, though, it works.
Tina Craig
Hermès Kelly Bag
Anya Hindmarch Leather Stickers
$55/sticker via Net-a-Porter
When your life revolves around bags, apparently you can spare an Hermès to decorate with fancy stickers.
Tina Craig
Hermès Lizard Kelly Bag
Clearly, though, Tina kept the stickers away from her exotics.
Victoria Justice
DKNY Mini Satchel
Shop DKNY via Bloomingdale’s
It’s always surprised me that DKNY doesn’t put more of an emphasis on its bags; there’s a lot of opportunity at the brand’s price point.
Victoria Justice
ZAC Zac Posen Claudette Tassel Clutch
$395 via Nordstrom
There is a great bag in this pic, but I’m distracted by how gorgeous and perfect Victoria Justice is.
Zoe Kravitz
Fendi Demi Jour Bag
$1,893 via MATCHESFASHION.COM
Please welcome our second septum piercing of the day. (I’m pretty sure Zoe had hers before Elisabeth.)
I covet none of these bags thankfully! The usuals r pretty though birkins and flaps but nothing is screaming buy! 🙂
Someone must review these Micro Bags either in What’s in my Bag or some other article. Because other than being cute, what are they for? Fancy Cell phone cases?
Drugs.
I like a good micro/mini bag, because it’s like a clutch with a shoulder strap. But when I got my iPhone 6+ a few weeks ago, all my mini bags are useless 🙁 Seriously, the bags are getting smaller while cell phones are getting bigger!
We were just talking about this in the office today! We’ll definitely be writing about them soon.
Yes please! Something like what Megs did for the Celine trio. Although a billion juicy articles on the pros and cons of these teeny tiny bags could not make me buy them at this juncture in my life. Lol.
these micro bags are going to have fendi laughing all the way to the bank. $1700? really??? what a joke.
They are so cute and outrageously expensive and people with tons of money are going to buy them by the fistful. FENDI WINS AGAIN. It’s crazy.
It’s “only” $1,550 at Neiman Marcus.
BARGAIN!!
… NOT
Not of these bags but who still wears fur in this day and age? I love Mary J Blige but she really disappoints!
How do you know she’s not buying vintage?
So buying dead animals that were skinned alive way back when? I don’t know if that makes it better. But overall, she isn’t the only one in the pictures obviously. I live on the east coast and never see anyone wearing fur so I was very surprised to see it here.
Sooo… wasting those animals lives by burning/discarding furs is better? Instead of… idk repurposing them and passing them on instead of buying new fur and continuing the trade? No please, tell me more. 😐
Here are some websites for donating furs:
http://coatsforcubs.com
http://www.wildliferescueleague.org/take_back_the_fur
http://cuddlecoats.com/donate.html
Alternatively, look for a wildlife rehabilitation site in your local area. Many of them will have information on their website if they need furs or you can also call.
These are AMAZING I love all of these!! A great, great way to put furs to good use.
No, I know many people who had furs passed down from their grandmother. There are a lot of solutions including donating them to charities that used them for orphaned animals. I think it is a disgusting trade that should be banned completely and most people are conscientious these days. Sure 100 years ago, people weren’t as aware of what goes on with fur trading but now people have no excuse to wear dead animals.
This is totally an option! Way better than simply burning/discarding. The fur trade is absolutely disgusting, yes, but honestly there are so many more options that are better/more helpful than throwing fur away. Donating them is a fantastic option, really smart, and helps animals who have been orphaned. Keeping old furs that are passed down is an option, but yeah, if you’re not going to keep passing it down or have no intention of keeping it, donating is such a great idea.
She looks warm though!
She looks like pain and suffering to me. There are ways to stay warm without fur.
I was thinking the same thing it’s really depressing to see how many of these people are wearing fur, I feel like smoking would be more attractive at this point.
I’m trying to give my back a break by going smaller and recently bought a Gucci mini bamboo shopper. It’s so s-m-a-l-l. (Considered the micro Fendi Peekabo; however, it’s even smaller). How does one scale down what to carry?
Wow this blog has some serious arm candy – great write-up Amanda! 🙂 Check out our NYFW coverage too…

Victoria Roberts reminds me SO much of Summer Roberts… I mean Rachel Bilson
LOVE the Micro Peekaboo!! So glad I pre-ordered mine. Cant wait to get it!!
What color did you pick?
I ordered the mint green one with the gold hardware.
It always amazes me how happy Noo always looks with that miserable temper she has. That much money for a bag that can only hold a stick of gum would have me cross
That’s not for everyboby , that’s all…
Accept it..
I love the way Naomi’s bag just looks with her outfit. All you see it that blue. Stunning.
#21 = Anti-hug jacket
