In the Rockstud’s relatively short life, it’s been worked and reworked in what seems like a million different ways. Crystals, camouflage, butterflies, stripes, leopard, red studs, black studs, pastel studs: those are just the versions that popped into my head while typing. For Fall 2016, Valentino has bestowed upon the bags an embellishment they’ve somehow never had before: quilting.
Despite the fact that quilting (especially diamond quilting, and especially alongside chain straps) is so heavily associated with Chanel, the studding makes these bags feel unmistakably Valentino. Which, if you think about it, is a pretty neat trick to ensure the Rockstuds’ longevity: the style has lived so many lives that Valentino could do nearly anything to it, and as long as the studs and delicate chain were intact, it’d still feel right. Check out all the runway bags, quilted and not, below.

As usual, they are beautiful. I have an obsession with Valentino shoes but yet to purchase a bag..hmm.
Amanda, I think you mean Valentino’s not Valentine’s. 🙂
How many studded bags do they think I want?
I guess I’m the only one so very tired of the rockstuds. Yawn.
Original, but too aggressive looking for me.
I’m a huge Rockstuds fan and own two (a soft tote and a medium trapeze – nothing too original). I love these.
I don’t know how much I like the rockstuds in the quilting. It reminds me of the Rebecca Minkoff quilted bag with the studs, which looked kind of jarring. And I love RM.
Very nice. The wide stitching works with the studs.
I don’t like black bags, but I could go for number 13.
Well, this seems me gonna like that rockstuds. This is the first time I appreciate the beauty of rockstuds. Wish I could find that with Asian Directory app.
Dafuq are “Valentine” bags
Boring fed up seeing studs. Most people would rather buy a Chanel than these some look cheap & plastic looking.
