Animal print. Love it or hate it, there’s no denying that animal print is sticking around in a big way for fall 2019. Animal print is sort of always a thing, often popping up here or there every season, but last fall leopard popped up in a pretty big way, on everything from dresses and jeans to handbags and shoes. This fall the animal print trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down, rather it seems to be picking up steam and fast. The best part of this trend is that you can pick up an incredibly pricey find, take the Gucci Arli Bag below, but you can also dip into this trend at a more contemporary price point, like one of the Wandler options we found.
I truly love the idea of a leopard bag for fall (it’s a great compliment to a closet full of black), but I also think I could start using this bag in the summer. White jeans, or white dress with a pop of print? Yes please! Check out our picks below, with more options sure to come as new arrivals continue to pop up on our favorite websites.
Meowouch! Sorry not much for animal prints unless the contrasts are toned down, WAY DOWN. With that said I MIGHT carry the Wandler but it’s more for the design and cut than print.
The most beautiful animal print bag that I’ve seen so far was the D&G Monica leopard print in velvet that I almost bought at La Rinascente in Milan a few years ago. The craftsmanship and materials were top notch. People kept stroking the velvet. I still regret not buying it then. There’s one for sale on ebay and I’m seriously tempted… https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dolce-Gabbana-Monica-black-brown-leopard-print-satchel-handbag-purse-NEW-4750-/233205330066
No.
My money is safe! 🙂 No animal print bags for me!
I love animal prints but this trend comes and goes to quick to spend $3000 on a bag that may or may not be in style. They are cute bags but a tshirt or shoes are easier to let go of when the trend ends.
I hear what you’re saying. Decades ago I purchased a gorgeous Prada leopard calf hair hobo. It was in fashion for years, then went out of fashion, came back and is still going strong. It’s a beauty of a bag but I only wear it occasionally due to it’s weight and size. I’ll never sell it!
I agree with Sparky! I’m not sure how old you are, but I’ve been around long enough for trends to come and go and then to come back around again. I take such good care of my bags that I have bags from the late 90’s. I’m still waiting for my Fendi Spy bags to come back around! Kinda joking there… I carry them whenever I want and still get compliments on them! People seem to love the shape of the bag. As a matter of fact now that I’m thinking about it, I rotate my bags almost daily and whenever I wear an older bag someone says “I love your bag”, that’s usually because they are not old enough to recognize it when it was the new bag on the block!
I agree re: trends coming and going. I’ve purchased and sold bags at the height of their popularity and made money. However, a few bags I could kick myself for selling since I liked them, but I knew the trend was not going to last. One bag was the Celine Micro tote, which I really enjoyed and am looking to purchase again on the secondary market. I no longer follow trends, but am more true to myself regardless if a bag is “popular or not”. Also, I’m a very impulsive buyer, but lately have been more conscientious re: my purchases to prevent buying and selling. This sounds like a therapeutic handbag confessional and maybe it is. 🙂
I really never have cared whether a bag was “popular” or not… if I loved it, that was all that mattered. Having said that, a lot of bags that were popular were popular for a reason and that was because they appealed to a lot of people…. I think where I might be different is that if I loved a bag, I didn’t typically fall out of love with it just because a new “it” bag came out… I still carry my Fendi Spy, Chloe Marci, Burberry Whipstitch, Balenciaga City and Motorcycle bags as well as most of the LV’s and Prada’s I’ve purchased through the years. I just pulled out my Milly leopard print bag and am SOOO happy I held onto it! I recently purchased a white Balenciaga Metallic edge city bag and I love it so much that when I think it looks too discolored, I’m going to have it professionally dyed, there is no way I’m getting rid of that bag!! LOL My handbag closet can hold just about 150 bags so I don’t have to get rid of any bags that I don’t want to. I’m one of those crazy bag ladies, when I downsize my house I’m still making sure I have a hand bag closet!

I’m in my 40s. I think we can agree to have different opinions. I prefer a classic bag that can withstand the ups and downs of current trends. My preference. I take great care of my bags with over 60 in my collection. I just don’t think my money would be well spent on a bag that won’t be on trend in the spring, only to wait 3 years for me to be in style again. I have always stayed away from over the top trends. No fringe, leopard print, plastic and or clear, extra micro bags. I rotate my bags daily as well.
I consider animal prints classic. A simple bag can be carried for many years!
I’m waiting on the vuitton jungle line, i like the way they merged animal print with monogram its very Vuitton meets the Flinstones.
Whether it’s in or out of style, I wear animal print. Oddly enough, I do not own an animal print bag. I’d rather have animal print clothing and shoes.
Me too. Alwayss. Small doses.
Always. Love the D&G Sicily in leopard print.
Love animal prints, especially leopard, for late summer and fall accessories. But $1,790 plus tax for a NYLON Prada seems extreme.
I love pony skin but to be honest, I think that, depending on how much you are going to carry the bag, nylon may be a better option. Pony skin tends to go bald in areas which are subject to friction. This makes it very delicate for a bag, particularly a shoulder bag.
Least favorite and I won’t ever spend the same $$$ leather vs nylon or waxed canvas.
I like the Saint Laurent Lou Lou leopard print bag. Cute
this is the first I’m hearing of “by far” and for $365 and made in Spain.. NICE! That looks like an awesome replacement for the LV pochette. 🙂
Wow I am surprised how many of these I actually like. The author really chose some nice ones, even if they are a bit crazy none of them look too huge and over the top in your face cheap (which is REALLY easy to do with animal prints). My favorites are definitely the Miu Miu Animal print calf hair (top pick), Saint Laurent Uptown & Mini Sunset (second pick), Prada Leopard print (just hate that its nylon), Wandler Luna Leopard print & Hortensia Mini Zebra print. Definitely some statement pieces, maybe they wont last every season but the animal print comes back every few years so its not like you cant wear it in the future. I am a sucker for actual hair feeling, love running my hands over it.
Animal print will always look tacky in my opinion.
I LOVE animal print, particularly leopard, but not one of these bags spoke to me.
I have been following this site from quite some time and I must say the things you have done with is incredible Visit Click here
