The rich textures that make up a cold-weather wardrobe are undeniably more luxurious than the thin textiles and woven straws of the summer months, but anything that luxe comes with a price. Because we believe in looking for good values even when shopping high-end things, we’re big fans of shearling, and this winter’s crop of bags is full of it.
Shearling is more leather than fur, which is what makes it a good bet when looking for the texture of the latter at the price point of the former. Usually hair-removal is part of the leather-making process, but in the case of shearling, the sheep is short close and the other side of the hyde is tanned to make suede. For most of its history, shearling was worn with the suede portion to the exterior and the fur inside for warmth in outerwear and boots, but recently, it’s been flipped more and more often.
Thanks to shearling’s relatively affordability (and, of course, every time we say “affordable,” it is relative to average prices in the luxury market) as a manufacturing material, many contemporary brands have used it in their handbags to give them an extra note of tactile extravagance. Below, we’ve assembled a totally touchable lineup of ten shearling bags for your shopping pleasure, all under $700. (And, thankfully, most of them are far under that.)
I just can’t with the shearling. It just looks like your bag is made out of carpet. Oddly enough, I really like the Loeffler Randall. Looks like different hair weave textures.
Why is it necessary to use animal fur on bags at all???
considering youre on this blog i assume you endorse leather but not shearling?? which makes absolutely no sense as leather is literally fur without the hair on it. are you against chanel lambskin bags as well? no one is making you wear fur or use leather but you shouldn’t demean people who do because not everyone shares the same views as you.
Lol please point out verbatim where I “demeaned people who wear fur”?
I know what you mean why kill and animal for fashion but you never know what if it is faux or vegan fur?
I think shearling is only suitable on cloth, not on bag.
#9 looks like you’re a murderer who takes your victim’s hair as a trophy….
That’s exactly what I thought!!!! 😕
Lol XD Going for that ‘Psycho Chic’.
Lol.. I should really stop watching Criminal Minds..

The only one I liked was slide 5 and it was one of the most affordable most just looked terrible like they just got a bag they already designed and just cut ff some carpet and sewed it on especially 9 wtf did you cut peoples hair off and glue it on to a bag terrible I would never spend almost 500 dollars on that bag looks like a beauty guru diy bag. Just my opinion.
