While May 1st to me feels like the unofficial start to summer, the ‘official’ start to summer comes at the end of the month here in the US, and that’s Memorial Day. For those of you that follow fashion rules this official start to summer also means you’ve got the go ahead to wear white. While I have to admit that I’ve been breaking this rule for quite a long time, I definitely am more inclined to both don a head to toe white outfit and purchase new white goodies when the temps warm up. Though I’ve got a bit of a love/hate relationship with my white bag, currently we’re on good terms. I just brought my white Chloé Drew out for the season and my love for the little lady has resurfaced. It got me thinking that maybe reserving white bags for a certain time of year is a good thing—after I didn’t use it for awhile I was happy to take my bag back out to play. If you have yet to add a white bag to your collection than you’re in luck. I admire white bags from afar. I could never have one due to the constant anxiety of making sure that it will not scuff or scratch or get color transfer, etc.. Love the Gucci Rajah.
That Gucci Rajah really is tooo much. It’s like they’re knocking themselves off. Love, LOVE the Miu Miu and the Volon.
The fear of colour transfer is far too high. Also the fact that I wear head to toe black and the contrast would be too stark IMO
I own a couple of white handbags that I wear year ‘round. None of color transfer, and I want more. It would be nice to see some under $500 options.

Do they stay white or in time does the color become more of an off white? How do you keep them clean? I owned a white Gucci years ago, but l couldn’t keep it white and eventually sold it. Thx!

May I also suggest some of my own white zip pouch wristlets? The leather is super soft and durable. I haven’t experienced any color transfer yet, and they wipe off just fine with mild soap and water. http://www.VivAndEdie.com

I was just in Saks yesterday and tried on the Prada in slide 5…it’s actually named Odette…and it is a beauty. I’ve always loved white bags and would never consider purchasing for the same reasons that many here have listed; however, Odette has me rethinking. And plus, it’s made in Prada’s famous saffiano leather thus I’d like to think a little more easier to clean than other softer uncoated leathers. It’s also very versatile and can be used dressed up or down comes with shoulder strap. I sound like a Prada sales associate, lol! Its definitely on my wishlist!
