When we wrote about Proenza Schouler’s Pre-Fall 2010 accessories collection a month ago, a lot of people were excited about the brand’s upcoming paper bag tote. (A lot of people also hated it, but hey, that happens.) It was only a matter of time before it hit stores, and as of today, it finally has.
The tote, which is made out of treated leather instead of actual paper, is now available via Net-a-Porter for $615. I’m sure that some people will complain about the price for what is a fairly simple bag, but for the size and material, it seems pretty fair to me.

Can’t believe that it’s sold out – I really wanted this bag. Took a look at the pics – even though the bag is relatively cheap for a designer bag, you’d think that for $600+, Proenza could line the darn the thing.
Arg. It was there when I wrote this (like an hour before it went up)! Keep an eye on Net-a-Porter’s site, sometimes new arrivals get “sold out” quickly but are then restocked later that day or the next.

This is just sort of meh. I can see the appeal, but it’s not for me. Give me a PS1 any day!

I’m surprised at how much I like the paper bag look. I’ll keep checking to see if Net-a-Porter will restock!
