Throwback Thursday: Remembering the Fendi B Bag

And a look back at the celebs who loved it

The 2000s were some of the handbag world’s best years, so it comes as no surprise that many of the silhouettes of yesteryear are coming back into play some 20 or so years later. However, there’s one iconic mid-2000s bag that deserves an honorable mention but should remain in handbag history. Yes, I’m talking about the Fendi B Bag. Designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, the B Bag debuted back in 2006 and was inspired by the B Buckle belt. An iconic design that was beloved during its reign, the B Bag was spotted on some of the fashion world’s most watched stars like Paris and Nicky Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and more.

Unlike other bags of its caliber, the B Bag’s reign was relatively short, likely because it contained many trend-driven elements that today appear somewhat garish and dated. Though the Fendi B Bag is not a bag many would carry today, let’s happily look back at the B Bag and remember a time that was much more carefree. Like when celebrities weren’t so heavily gifted the latest it-bag, social media was barely a thing and Kim Kardashian had an entirely different face—oh what a time! Though a thing of the past, the B Bag is still instantly recognizable to this day by its oversized buckles, flap closure and chunky chain and leather shoulder straps. Take a look below at the many Fendi B Bags celebs loved in the 2000s. May they rest in peace.

About two years ago, I bought a small version of the B bag (B Bis), and I love it. I’ve even gotten a compliment on it. At our local Fendi boutique, none of the salespersons even knew about this bag. I remember wanting one and not being able to afford it. It’s very cool and striking.

I found at the Thrift some Fendi B Sunglasses for the princely sum of NZ$2. …I would only really want to find this bag as a bit of fun to wear it with the sunglasses.

Nadia

Hi Tania, do you still interested with this bag? i got one, the brown leather one.

I have two. One in tan and black patent, and a limited edt one in black patent like the one Jessica Simpson wear in this article. Remember the latter one was dead expensive. Very practical bags, I’d love for them to come back.

Nothing needs to come back – it’s a classic! I love buying vintage or iconic bags and rocking the hell out of them! I just got two of them – one in black and white, and one in gold to add to my collection. The B Bag and anything in that collection are one of my favorites!

Yes! Love this bag! I know I’ve comment a few times before on other articles but i got the large version bag for like $5 at a consignment store bc the clasp was broken and the store people didn’t recognize it was a luxury bag! I paid $30ish to get the clasp replaced and carry it all the time! It’s a cute bag!

Ahhhh, the good ol’ “belts on bags” trend! Simpler times.
