A little over a year ago, Vlad and I decided to move back to Florida, but we still travel to NYC often–the rest of our team is in NYC, as is much of our work. Growing up in Florida meant mostly one season all year long, with a burst of gloriously cool days during the winter that are just perfection. But fall feeds my soul, and there is nothing like seeing the leaves change and feeling the temperatures cool. Fall in NYC is magical, and while the term sweater weather is a little cliché, it is still one of my favorite hashtags to follow on Instagram. (But I don’t like Pumpkin Spice Lattes, so there’s that).
There’s something about cozy sweaters that puts a smile on my face; maybe it’s the fact that they signify cooler weather, or maybe it’s that I love an oversized sweater because it feels like I’m wearing an all-day-hug. To share the perfect combination, I paired ten of my favorite sweaters and wraps with bags that match their style.
I love the idea of a matching bag and sweater much more than I do a bag and shoes. Here are ten sweater/weather bag combos, from pretty pinks to creamy cable knits to vintage Chanel.
Well the great thing is when you are done with college you can obtain a career and afford any bag you want. I have a walk in handbag closet and I have been matching my bags to sweaters for years. I have an amazing leather and black velvet bag that I love pulling out and matching with a beautiful sweater…. love the change in seasons, I feel like I just got a brand new bag every time I pull out a winter bag……

LOVE this post! , All combinations are Perfect!, Iast week I bought the Burberry cape in regency purple and the fringe elderberry clutch bag to combine it with!!! Looks really chic!
Yep, I sure do. Unfortunately, living in So Cal it’s something that would never be used. Heck, it’s 85 degrees today in late October. Sure would be nice to experience brisk weather in Fall so I could wear all the lovely cold weather outerwear you like you guys!

Such a cute post! 🙂 Although, I don’t live the sweater that come with Balenciaga papier tote, I like the tote so much I’m contemplating getting one. 😉
Lovely, creative post, Megs. It has finally turned to sweater weather in Northern California, and you are inspiring me to match my cashmere collection to my bags. I especially love the Comme des Garçons stripes/dots paired with the Kelly bag. Such a sharp look! A close second is the sage green Chloé Georgia Bag (surprisingly affordable!) with the dark olive pullover from The Row. Just right when the temperature drops just a wee bit more, to “fireplace weather”!

A very refreshing post, Megs! Edgy, cute, elegant, or just comfy – everything is there. I am not sure what my favorite combo is, but probably the Hermes with the striped sweater? It is adorbs. And the grey Nightingale is stunning – so versatile.
Ah, yes. Let me shell out my college tuition on a bag to match my sweater.
Cute in theory though!
Well in reality, you can carry that bag all the time 😉
Lol, lovely post but I’m with Gigi. 🙂

Wanted to give a diverse selection!
What a great post with great combos! I have never thought of matching sweaters and bags, but it is a cool idea. BTW that grey Nightingale is TDF.

That sweater is def different – I kinda like the idea of that sweater with black leather pants, would be really cool!
Oh yes! When you say that. It’s definitely cool!

Yep, I love that pairing too and tbh I love each one for different reasons!
Really like these! I am going to get turtle neck and match with my fendi bag 🙂 thanks.
Yes!! Love that you love that and will do it 🙂
I am loving your sweater and bag combos, Megs! I need to figure out how to bring a Kelly into my life!
I know I want a Kelly bag SO SO SO bad!!
Great choices ! I love the slide 8.
I agree, best pair!
I don’t like the new Nightingale, specially the strap. The old strap was the “it” thing about it.
Me too, It was my favourite
Love your pairings
In love with all of them, do I really have to choose one
Terrific post – love the colour matched combos. The grey sweater looks so nice.
I LOVE sweaters and I LOVE handbags–this is THE perfect combo post!! 5,6,7 & 9 are GORGEOUS!!!!! Thanks for this Megs!! 🙂
