Glitter has increased its presence on the fashion scene and I couldn’t be happier about it. I’m a self-proclaimed lover of all things pretty and sparkly, and glitter aligns perfectly with my personal aesthetic. I can’t click through any of my regular online shopping spots without seeing glitter and I’m definitely not complaining about it. There is something so cheery and youthful about glitter, and I love that this trend is gaining momentum. Glitter has traditionally been reserved for New Year’s Eve, but it’s refreshing to see it emerging as an everyday look rather than being reserved for one night out of the year. “She leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes” has been a longtime favorite quote of mine, and the glitter trend aligns with it so perfectly.
Glitter bags aren’t for everyone, especially those who consider themselves minimalists, but I find the look so fun. My bag is almost always my favorite part of my outfit and I often gravitate towards statement bags as a result. I tend to wear basic clothing so my bag and shoes will stand out more, and a glitter bag would certainly fit the bill as a statement bag. I’d love to pair one with a monochromatic outfit or with a basic dress and a jean jacket. While glitter isn’t a new concept in the fashion industry, it’s nice to see how many options are currently available in different shapes, designs, and price points. I find it so fascinating to see how differently each designer tackles glitter. For example, Saint Laurent’s Mini Loulou Glitter Suede Crossbody could not be more different from the Marc Jacobs Glitter Snapshot Crossbody, yet they share the glitter component. Whether you are looking to invest in an expensive piece or just try the trend for fun, there is something for everyone.

I get my glitter fix from my sparkly sneakers! I just bought a pair of Golden Goose sneakers covered in crushed Swarovski crystals…talk about being extra! (They were 70% off, so I don’t feel quite as bad.)

Glitter bags were my aesthetic in high school, about 10 years ago. No shade or anything, I just feel like I have moved on to other things. But I can still appreciate a gorgeous glitter bag and when I was scrolling the Coach website awhile back I actually gasped when I saw that Parker bag! It’s so pretty! Just not my style anymore.
