The year was 1995, and while I was very concerned about fashion, it was mainly making sure my hairbows matched my outfit. Sure, I knew my ABCs, but they were more like Apple, Ball, and Cat instead of Armani, Bottega, and Chanel.
I was five years old and wouldn’t discover one of the most iconic (IMHO) fashion campaigns of the ’90s until I was in my teens and spent most of my spare time on Tumblr. By then, I knew the ABCs of luxury fashion, and I also knew that Miu Miu was for cool girls, and of course, I wanted to be one of them.
It was on Tumblr that I shared a grainy image of Drew Barrymore from Miu Miu’s Spring 1995 campaign. It was one of my (now defunct) blog’s most reblogged posts. The image lives in my head rent-free, which immediately popped into my head when I saw Miu Miu’s freshly launched fall handbags.
The Fall 2025 Bag That Sparked a ’90s Flashback

While yes, I saw the bag on the runway for Fall 2025, I didn’t clock the nostalgia until I saw it pop up in a bold ruby red hue with a nice sheen. Immediately, I was transported back in time.
While Miu Miu doesn’t cite the bag as an archival revival, the description does point out that it is a new interpretation of the top-handle bag, smaller and more compact. Defined by its flat top handles and monochromatic embossed logo, the leather’s soft sheen adds that distinct hint of Miu Miu chicness.

Why Miu Miu’s Cool-Girl DNA Never Fades
What Miu Miu continues to do so well season after season is hone in on its core classics and icons, and make them feel modern and fresh while staying true to its distinct brand DNA and effortlessly cool appeal.
Items that feel nonchalant and offer an ease of wear, almost as if you threw them on without overthinking them, but somehow they all work—the quintessential trait of a Miu Miu girl.
Do you remember the ads of Miu Miu’s earliest days?
somehow the 95’s version feels like a lunch box bag.
