Throwback Thursday: Celebs and Their Louis Vuitton Bags

Stars loved their LVs 10 years ago just as much as they do now

10 years is a long time and while so much can change in that time period, it still feels like 2010 was not that long ago. However, when you take a look back at what celebs wore and carried back in the late 2000s and early 2010s, it’s apparent how much has changed. For starters, celebs loved to tote around big bags. At the time, big bags weren’t only practical, but they were in style too. There were seasons where the bigger the bag the better. Instagram didn’t exist and one could argue that the start of Instagram changed how people dress on a day to day basis. Without it fashion was more approachable as stars dressed themselves on a daily basis (without a stylist’s help), which meant the bags they carried were more functional for their day to day lives as well.

One thing that has remained consistent is celebs’ love for their Louis Vuitton Bags. For this throwback Thursday, we took a dive back in time to see which Louis Vuitton bags reigned supreme back in the days of The Hills and Hannah Montana. While it’s clear that some Louis Vuitton silhouettes will remain classics forever, it’s also fun to analyze the very many limited edition bags that stars were snapped carrying. From Stephen Sprouse and Richard Prince to Takashi Murakami and more, this post is chock full of the LVs of yesteryear. Want to see more of what bags celebs favored back in the day? Check out last week’s round up with picks from Prada, Chloé and more!

Keep these throwback articles coming- reminds me of happier times

CL

Agreed! Everyone I know is getting nostalgic…might as well reminisce about the past when you have no idea what to expect in the future.

Megs Mahoney Dusil

We for sure will! So glad you are enjoying them!

Aoifs

Love this too. Have you ever done a Bags of the Hills? I know I, for one, started my love of designer bags watching that show. I have the Chanel GST that LC gifted Heidi for her birthday!

John Patrick

Okay but why does Jessica Simpson looks like a drag queen that’s out of drag? That angle is damn unflattering.

Abigail Von Stuten

What? She looks fine. All of them are dressed casually and the camera angles don’t flatter any of these women. I love the throwback pix for their bags though!

psny15

I love these throwbacks – they had a fun and quirky style compared to today’s folk

Jerri R

Nostalgic! Keep these coming!

Michelle

I love these throwbacks! Instagram really did change things. The celebs look normal, not overly fussy and made up for getting a coffee like they do now.

Bianca Glenn

Look at the price difference back then.

Derek Tyson-Hall Jackson

Is it me, or is the Alma Miley is carrying fake? The gold looks yellow and the vachetta is real off.

Rielle Zahacij

Judging from a distance, it appears that this Alma is not authentic. The trim appears to be plastic and very puffy, although there is a chance that I could be wrong.

Jettsam

Don’t know just happy to have evidence that it isn’t the camera flash that causes her tongue to stick out.

Sam

Fun post! Not to nitpick but is there any way you guys could add the years these photos are from next to each picture? Loved that in the other throwback handbag post!

Kaitlin Serio

No problem! Updated 🙂

Amazona

Loving these posts – a happier time, before ridiculous bag prices and when jeans didn’t look like leggings! 😀

Laura Bo

I miss those days and some of those bags. Maybe one day LV will bring back Multicolour in it’s original glory.

bir

the leopard bags are still fantastic.

Anisa Glover

Omg look at snooki. Mairrage and motherhood sure did change her. ?
