When Louis Vuitton’s Multi Pochette Accessoires burst on the handbag scene a mere 5 months ago it immediately found its way onto my want list. The bag shot to popularity, selling out almost immediately, and in the meantime racking up waitlists of thousands around the globe.
The Multi Pochette is the first Louis Vuitton Monogram bag that I have lusted after in almost 8 years, and my immediate infatuation cemented the fact that I had to have it. I typically make my one big bag buy around the end of the year so the timing seemed to be just right, until I realized that actually getting my hands on one would be nearly impossible.
I put my name on waitlists at several stores as I refused to pay more than retail via a resale site. Finally in late November the bag fell into my hands. After a solid two months of use I’m able to do a deep dive into this hybrid bag. Let’s go!
Aesthetics

The uniqueness of this bag struck a chord with me, which is why I gave it five stars. You either love the cool vibe of a hybrid bag or hate it—I, of course, love it. There’s something about the juxtaposition of classic Louis Vuitton monogram canvas and the modern multi-bag shape. Finished off with a sporty utility crossbody strap, this bag is effortlessly cool.
Usability + Functionality

In terms of usability there’s really not all that much to say. While yes, the bag(s) are on the tinier side, there are enough nooks and crannies to carry everything I need for the day. In the main Pochette I keep my small wallet, and cosmetics case plus gum/other miscellaneous items in the back slit pocket. Then, in the smaller Pochette I store my phone plus a pair of sunglasses in a small microfiber pouch. Other reviews of the bag (which I read/watched prior to buying) discussed the coin pouch as a more useless item, though I’ve found this to be one of my favorite parts of the bag! I keep my headphones and my keys in there for easy access. I’ve even begun hooking it onto/inside other bags as those are the two things I’m always ‘losing’ inside my bag.
Though the bag suits my needs well, I knocked off a half a star due to an issue that’s happened to me a few times. When using the bag as is (all parts connected), more than once I’ve intended to put something in the back Pochette and it’s instead fell through the hole between each bag. A minor issue but an issue nonetheless and something to be mindful of. I almost misplaced my wallet at a bar one evening when it fell on the floor.
Quality + Construction
First created for travel, Louis Vuitton Monogram canvas has a rich history and has been around for over 150 years. As it was originally used in trunk-making, coated canvas is an incredibly durable material, resulting in strong and sturdy bags. My Pochette was made in the USA, which I know has been a topic of concern for many, but thus far I haven’t come across any quality issues.
Price + Value

It’s hard to consider any designer bag a ‘value’ in this day and age, but being that this bag is essentially 4 pieces and retails for $1,640, I’d say this bag comes pretty close. I absolutely love that this bag has so many uses. There’s countless ways to wear it, and additionally you can use the pieces other ways as well. I purchased a monogram strap for my Speedy 25 in Paris ten years ago, and I love that I can use it here as well if I’m wearing something that the Kaki green doesn’t mesh well with. You can see it in action here. Conversely, I’ve used the Kaki green strap with my Speedy 25. I’ve definitely been getting the most out of all of this bag’s pieces so far and for that I’d say the price is definitely right. I did give this a 4, however, because as you’ll read below its staying power is uncertain.
Staying Power
While multi-bags seem to be here to stay, with other premium designers releasing their own versions of this trend, longevity beyond a few seasons is uncertain. That being said I can’t give this bag over 3.5 stars as in two years multi bags may very well be ‘out’.
Overall Rating

Overall, if you’re into the idea of a multi bag and if you’re able to get your hands on the Louis Vuitton Multi Pochette Accessoires, you should. It’s incredibly stylish and easy to wear—it looks cool with most outifits, even a simple sneaker look. Though the staying power of hybrid type bags is uncertain, this bag is still a great buy as all of the pieces are classic enough to be worn on their own. Overall I’m incredibly happy with my purchase of this (somewhat controversial) bag, and at the end of the day that’s all that truly matters.

I got so lucky to get this bag 2 weeks ago on our local LV Brisbane Australia. Walk-in the store an SA greeted me and asked if she can help me. Not really planning to buy anything I was just stickibiking as few weeks ago two people break in and took heaps of bags. I answered jokingly yeah I’m looking for a Multi Pochette Accessoires! Do you have anything hiding on those drawers? And asked if my CA is around, the nice CA smiled and said my CA is on holiday and yes she have a Multi Pochette Accessoires but has to call her client first, if no answer it’s mine. Wow.no answer so I end up buying it. Glad I as
I didn’t really care about this bag at all when it came out. But your pictures are so great. It is so cute and hip, that now I kinda want it! Totally functional too!
It honestly is SO much more useable than I originally thought. I gravitated to it because of the style first and kinda was like whatever I love it I’ll make it work but was surprised how functional it is and even the pieces separately.
Same here!!! These pictures convinced me that I need to att least try it in before flushing it! ?
Kaitlin – I wasn’t feeling this bag up until now, but girl you are Pulling. It. Off!!! Get it girl!
Even if the multi-bag thing is “over” in a few seasons having style is always in season, and you gots it.
Thank you so much!!
I have this bag and absolutely love it. I like cross body bags, in general, and this is definitely unique. You’re right though, people either HATE it or LOVE it. I dress pretty casually, so this fits into my style perfectly. I usually leave the coin pouch off. I don’t use it and it kinda gets in the way when i wear it crossbody
Still not a fan. Too utilitarian looking for my taste.
I totally get it. The multi bag look is not for everyone.

I don’t like this bag but you wear it really well- and the pictures are gorgeous! Glad you’re happy with your purchase because you’re right, that’s what truly matters 🙂
Thank you!! Yes—style is so objective and like I said you either love this bag or you don’t. I totally get it is not for everyone.
Thank you for telling us about how it is possible to have items fall through the hole instead of into a compartment! This is scary and a deal-breaker for me.
Of course! It’s more just something to be mindful of, and it’s an easy mistake to make if in a rush!
Love the bag but really love your boots! Who makes them?
They are Stuart Weitzman!
Came for the review, stayed for the review, but also…stayed for your white blazer. Can you let me know where that’s from and/or what material it is? It looks perfect, can’t stop thinking about it!
Ah thank you so much! It is vintage wool—it belonged to my mom! The brand is Sag Harbor. I shop vintage a lot and I see this brand often on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/search?q=sag%20harbor%20blazer). Happy hunting!
Ahhh makes so much sense, you can find so many perfect treasures shopping vintage. It’s a gorgeous piece! Tysm!
I haven’t been the biggest fan of this bag but you wear it well. It really is best if you lean into the casual, street style vibe.
I haven’t thought much about this bag, but it occurred to me while reading this post that it really “can’t” be a bad investment simply b/c even if it “goes out of style” you are still left with 3 nice pouches and a strap you can always put on other bags.
Totally agree! The pouches are both timeless on their own and even the strap works well on other bags.
Yes, it does look good on you! Your vibe is casual, fun, feminine and pretty! I want to buy the bag (probably get on a long wait list) and I’m not even a big fan of the bag! I guess that makes you an “Influencer”? 🙂
I love the multi purpose pochette and the Favorite MM. I cannot locate any store that carries them. Please help!
I love the bag but I really love your boots! Who makes them

I purchased the trio pochette instead, but the pouches don’t have depth so they can’t hold much. This seems more versatile. You keep the cute bag, I want that cute fuzzy jacket you’re wearing!
I love your boots! Where did you get them? They look comfy!
They are from last year, Stuart Weitzman!
I still really dislike the placement of the D ring for the coin purse — right on the boobs! Not good visual, IMO. I have this bag and NEVER use the coin purse in that position when wearing it crossbody because it attracts attention away from your face and to your chest. Why would you want to do that? Attach it elsewhere, fine. And i double-up the chain strap so it falls across the face of the smaller pochette instead of falling below it, where it can get caught on other items, like coat butttons. It looks more like a bag charm that way and still is functional as a hand-carry strap or undo and use for shoulder carry.
I really loved this bag right up until I saw Every. Single. Tourist. in my city wearing one every day. I see this bag on someone literally 50 times a day, 5 days a week on a single street. And now I’m super put off and it’s been ruined for me! ?
I’m surprised to hear this! I have yet to see one in person and I travel a lot especially work so I see a lot of bags in airports. Which city are you in out of curiosity?
Auckland, NZ! Huge tourist location for Asia.
Looks wonderful on you. Seems like a bag with so may option with all the parts. Shan’t purchase myself, but I like it and think even if it outdates the individual pieces will still be great so a really good buy. You wear it well.
Thank you!
i really love the look of it, and the thing is, I don’t have any other louis vuitton stuff (no pochettes) which is why I feel like it wouldn’t be a waste if I got it because I would at least have other slgs. Very cool!
Hi Kaitlin, this is 3 years later but do you think the bag is dated now? I’m seeing it around less which is actually making me want to purchase it finally. What do you think? The price has gone up significantly in 3 years but I still think I want it. Would love your opinion. Thanks in advance!
