While Louis Vuitton is first and foremost a trunk and leather goods maker, over the years, it has expanded its offerings into an array of categories for a 360-degree lifestyle experience. Now, it’s further expanding with the addition of an elevated make-up line to its vast product offerings, led by iconic beauty entrepreneur Pat McGrath.
Appointed as the creative director of cosmetics for La Beauté, Pat McGrath will oversee the line, which is rooted in Louis Vuitton’s distinct savoir-faire and commitment to creativity and craft. La Beauté will debut on August 25th and includes various products from balms and lipsticks to eyeshadows and more, all meant to complete your beauty routine.

A true representation of Louis Vuitton’s commitment to craft, every detail has been meticulously refined, from the formulas and shades to the objets d’art that house them. While each product encapsulates Louis Vuitton’s storied savoir-faire, what makes them special is that they’re designed to feel like more than just beauty items to use and discard, but items to have forever.
Since 1854, beauty has been central to the Maison’s DNA. Louis Vuitton’s earliest trunks were designed with specific compartments to house an owner’s most delicate and prized beauty products, such as fragrances.
A Launch Steeped in Louis Vuitton’s History of Beauty
Later, Louis Vuitton expanded into bags specifically meant to carry personal care items, and it was then that the vanity case was born. It has remained a part of the Louis Vuitton line-up all these years. Refined and perfected, it is an iconic silhouette of the Maison rooted in heritage. Like the Maison’s other creative directors, McGrath looked to the archives for inspiration, reimagining timeless beauty for modern day.
At the center of Louis Vuitton La Beauté is the vast collection of 55 lip shades—a subtle ode to LV’s Roman numerals. McGrath has meticulously pored over and perfected each shade to be flattering for all but distinct nonetheless, including creamy satin shades and velvety matte colors. Ten shades of Baume act as accompaniments to the lipsticks, boasting 48-hour hydration.
As for the eyes, the LV Ombres collection launches with 8 shades in varying palettes, each including four eyeshadows.
To coincide with this historic moment for the Maison, a dedicated line of small leather goods has been designed to complement La Beauté, which will entice bag lovers everywhere. These goods feature Monogram canvas accessories to hold beauty products, while limited edition Lipstick Pouches (~swoon~) and Nice Beauty Cases in three shades will commemorate the collection’s launch.
It’s the details that truly define luxury beauty, enticing us to buy. In a world where luxury feels inaccessible, this launch comes at the perfect time, allowing us all to carry a little bit of something luxe.
La Beauté Louis Vuitton will launch on August 25th, 2025, but you can get a first look below. Be sure to sign up for updates via Louis Vuitton.com.
Louis Vuitton Steps Into Beauty With La Beauté

Here’s the deal. I’m not gonna buy a purse from Lancome, and I’m not gonna buy lipstick from Louis Vuitton. I’m sure there are women who can’t afford a handbag who are going to love whipping out this lipstick. I am not one of them.
True.
I couldn’t agree more!
How about just getting a Pat McGrath lipstick? They are under $50 and the shades are gorgeous. I own several. The extra $110 or so spend is because of the LV name and that is a personal choice. I’m out.
Her brand is in the gutter with bad creative choices and terrible financial situation. Being a good make up artist doesn’t always translate into a cohesive brand perspective and successful products.
I agree! That said, I do own the Hermès lip balm and it’s my fave. It works so well with my lips that I only need a refill once a year. The cost per wear for me works.
Just buy a makeup from a brand that really in makeup industry. Fashion brand that make a beauty product feels like a fast food brand who suddenly expanding and make a cellphone company.
It’s Pat NcGrath. It won’t be substandard.
On parle là du groupe LVMH qui possède Guerlain, Dior, Sephora etc… Vuitton est aussi crédible en mode qu’en cosmétiques. C’est ridicule de comparer Vuitton à un fast-food.
Exactement. Ils ont déjà le savoir faire.
Redefining beauty as a lifestyle? If anything, LV is late to the party, yet again.
Its $120 for a lip balm😂😂
$160
Wouldn’t dare put this stuff on my face, especially for the price. There are so many other skin products and beauty lines that are actually in the business and can charge these prices because they have testing and results to backup their formulas and ingredients used. Stay in your lane LV.
I wish this was a joke. This is absolutely absurd, there is nothing that makes this lipstick worth $160. They’ll do anything to separate a fool from their money.
This is too much money for a lipstick. Louis Vuitton keeps pushing the envelop. It’s just greed. I think YSL has the best products and best colors. It’s not cheap but not as expensive. I’m not changing, period.
The packaging is beautiful!
I think Pat McGrath cosmetics are nice. I have used her makeup I am sure these will be lovely too
I only buy treatment make-up like Glo Skin Beauty, Cinema Secrets, or Dr. Schrammek because these lines actually treat your skin and protect it. They aren’t labels they are mineral based, non-comedogenic, clean beauty, with antioxidants.
There’s so many designer makeup lines available, with just a bunch of dyes, marketing and chemicals that don’t offer any treatment benefits for my skin and at this price then it will be a no go for me.
Everything is made in Europe and they have much stricter rules about chemicals.
This is a beautiful collection. Is this expensive? Yes. But it’s in line with Louis Vuitton’s current pricing strategy.
I don’t know why people get so upset. Nobody is forced to buy these. I’m sure there will be plenty of clients though.
The little lipstick pouch is SO CUTE! Most people are hating on all this, but I’m excited. I’m not going to buy out the whole line, but I might get a couple items. I’m aware they’re way overpriced. So are my handbags. 🥰
I LOVE the lipstick pouch! I might have to start wearing lipstick 🙂
$160? Probably production cost would be under $20? Louis Vuitton definitely needs to make more profits by selling over priced products 😂
I am actually so upset that I put myself on a self imposed ban on anything to do with Bernard Arnault because I think there is some gorgeous makeup here. I was able to avoid purchasing from LVMH so far but this line makes it so much harder!
Those lipsticks are pat mcgrath and they look beautiful with beautiful packaging!
My sibling in self-imposed ban, keep courage. Remember you can find sooooo many other options without feeding the troll Arnault is. Besides, these products are just cosmetics, they don’t even help your skin/lips with anything.
They accept credit cards on ban island.
I am excited about this makeup line. Yes it is overpriced, but I will probably buy a lipstick, at least.
Who will buy this junk?
Sigh unfortunately those obsessed with either make up or LV… As I am guilty and I don’t even wear makeup Ill probably put it in my display case as a trinket
It’s Pat McGrath so it will be top quality. I might treat myself to a lippy but that’s about it. I’m not going to go crazy in it. I also need to know if it’s tested on animals. If it’s sold in China it will be.
Forget the make-up. Give me that vanity!
So I did it I pushed purchase for the natural lip balm. I guess I just want to be part of history their first launch. I do not wear make up but I do use chapstick lol. I guess I now own the most expensive chapstick in the world. It is on preorder but says shipment 8/27
