Brands are trying to figure out how to manage remaining ‘open’ and pushing out new product during this unprecedented worldwide pandemic. While brick and mortar stores are closed, online stores for majority of companies remain open and people have taken to the internet for everything while we spend more time at home; from news to virtual parties with friends to online shopping of course. Though many are spending their online shopping looking for home school activities, household necessities, and small items to keep themselves feeling sane, luxury brands will continue to offer what they do best: luxury.
There was some confusion when the much-hyped and anticipated Louis Vuitton Escale Collection would be released. There was talks of everything being pushed back to June but Louis Vuitton decided to release this collection online now, offering every soon-to-be-collector-item available immediately.
The collection is defined by a Tye-dye like effect, in either a pastel rainbow combination, a blue and white combination, or a red and pink option. There’s everything from bags to clothing to small accessories to some home items as well. Of course some of the larger bags are the most sought after, like the Louis Vuitton Onthego, but there are small items that are priced more reasonably that are equally as nice.
This collection is a happy reminder of a different time, a time where we will all leave our houses again to feel the warm sun on our faces without worries of catching this horrible virus, or vacations with family and friends where we can dine out and laugh and hug. You don’t need anything like this to feel that way, but man, I do find this collection to deliver the right amount of happiness in an otherwise tumultuous time.
Because all stores are closed, the entire collection lives online right now which may give you more of a chance to grab an otherwise very hard to find item. Majority of items can still be added to cart at this time, so grab something now if you want a piece of this collection. Shop the entire Louis Vuitton Escale collection now.
Beautiful summer stuff!
Ain’t nobody going anywhere this summer…unless a trip to the ICU is worth dressing up for
What an ill timed release
True we probably can’t go anywhere, but we can think of the summer and love the season, right?:)
LOL! At the rate things are going we might have to shoulder these bags to go put out the garbage.
I totally get what you’re saying. I think it’s so hard for any business, especially one that does not work in a field that is more essential right now, to know how to navigate these incredibly hard times. People are scared and sick, people are losing jobs, and people are losing family members and loved ones.
On the other side, I do see brands will need to continue on. Of course we see them as a large corporation, but they employ tens of thousands of people that rely on them for paychecks as well.
At some point they were going to need to release this collection as it’s been made and needs to be sold. I suppose they could have waited a bit longer, but it seems that this is going to be taking a while for the world (especially the US) to come out of this on the ‘other side’, and in some way some businesses need to attempt to keep on. It’s really tricky, there’s no right answer in this time I’m afraid.
There are so many items still available, a sign of the times. If life were normal this collection would be sold out by now. I actually like a lot of the pieces. However, at the end of the day I prefer the classics.
These are very traumatic times and ppl are losing their lives. This is completely ill timed.
We need a distraction from the chaos.
Oh please, we need a distraction from the misery.
A colorful fun LV can put a smile on my face while being trapped in the house for weeks.
You have no right to judge or preach to me; have you lost someone you love during this pandemic? No? I wouldn’t wish it on anyone!
One could argue that if you lost a loved one you wouldn’t be trolling on Purseblog? I mean, I wouldn’t be anyway. I’m with Gia – bring on the distractions!
Fuck you! I am not trolling and I have every right to express myself! You know nothing about me so don’t judge me! Find someone else to troll!
And as cold as it may seem, life goes on. And the economy must go on as well. People loose loved ones every day – way before this virus even reared its ugly head. This crisis is affecting the mental health of a lot of people, and the more distractions, the better. For many of us, it’s not ill-timed. So you’re either here to read about the collection or to attack other people who are.
China is all bad. You should complain about the Chinese Communist Hall, which has been hiding information. We all need to WAKE UP!!
Oh please. How is what you are doing not spreading propaganda? afaik, we refused to do anything to protect ourselves when China locked down Wuhan on Jan 23rd. Stop making this a political thing. That’s such an ugly behavior. Yuck!
Are you Chinese?or support Chinese Communist Party? Or never read any “ reliable newspaper “?
Don’t think it is propaganda and it is true voice in my opinion.
Btw I bought a Speedy but no place where I can take it. Lol
It’s incredibly rude to speculate and accuse people like that. Maybe take the time you spent on lashing out to help others in need instead? Fortunately, I won’t stoop to your level. This is a handbag website. I said this before and will say it again. Leave your political opinions at the door!
I kinda want that notebook though… if only the pages were replaceable. I would rather not spend hundreds on a notebook where the cover just needs to be thrown away as soon as the pages are filled.
So, I bought the notebook – wonder if there will be a way to somehow make it still work post pages being done. In my mind fog, I didn’t look and realize the pages aren’t replaceable. I really am not thinking as well these days!
I cannot imagine staying home with an energetic toddler and an infant to take care of, during this time. I hope the beautiful notebook brings you lots of joy.
Gay? Really?
I was looking at this collection last night. I really like it. I think the timing is fine as it’s nice to peruse the collection on-line rather than read about the virus spreading for just a few minutes. Like the article said, nice to look at the items and dream of a time when we can be out and about. I love the hat so much, it’s so cute. I wonder if it’s worth the price though….
I can’t believe somebody downvoted your nice comment
Looks already dated and not sure people can use those collection piece in next year….but I like blue Speedy.
It is nice to see something new and upcoming LV x Nigo collection but dealing with Chinese Virus frankly shopping isn’t my priority anymore at this moment.
Still hard to buy masks, toilet paper, hand sanitizers and so on…. have received a call from my SA in Australia and my SA wanted to show me some of the latest products. Right! I can’t buy things I desperately need right now for myself and family however on the other hand I can buy a bag which isn’t my priority now.
Hideous don’t you think?
Plus how long does Louis Vuitton needs to put price up while the quality seems not improving?
I prefer to call it the Trump virus rather than the “Chinese virus.”
don’t call it the “Chinese virus” while preaching about appropriateness…
What an embarrassing mistake SMFH
LOL. So true.
The funny thing – or perhaps the painful thing – is how nostalgic this collection feels. It’s a collection for a different time, for different lives than we are living now.
My exact thought, I can’t even place my feeling…melancholy/nostalgic. It reminds me of being young and poor and flipping through Vogues and dreaming. I want to buy every piece for the yacht vacation in Capri that wont be happening…at least not this season.
I was thinking the same thing. If I buy the Keepall, when will be the next time I can use it?
Oh how wonderfully well put. It’s very 90s reminiscent – at least to me – and far more…frothy and sun filled than most of us are feeling these days.
agree with all of you – fun memories of the way we were twenty years ago – wow!
Totally agree. I remember seeing these when the first glimpses were shared, my how life has changed
I’m not usually a fan of these special collections….but I think these are super cute. I like the Neverfull at the top! It’s a nice distraction!
Ya, I oddly love this collection. I do think it’s because it feels like such a different time, and feels bright and cheerly and hopeful!
The one word that came to me upon seeing this collection was ‘happiness’
Very true. I was lemming after a few things but sadly now is not best time for foolhardy purchases
Love love love this line. Tempted to buy but I can’t afford to spend so much on trendy styles. 2 & 9 are my favorites!
When you get to be my age, you don’t care about trendy. If I spend money on it, I’ll be carrying it for the next 30 years! ?
I like the collection, it’s fresh and refreshing. The timing is although wrong…Summertime? We dreams of it right now…It could be a mych better strategy to say ” this is our new collection but well due to the hard time we all are passing through se decide to postpone the sell…”
Wish I could! I love how fun and summery this collection is. Yes it’s seasonal, but I don’t think it will date horribly, as it is all the classic pieces, just in summer colors. Sure, It wouldn’t be for every day, but super fun for summer and warm vacations. Of course, the world is not going to get a joyful summer or vacations anytime soon. Not to mention we can justify shopping for these things at the moment. But, If money was no worry, I’d snatch that blue neverfull up in a second.
I very much like the Kirigimi. The rest are…ok, but nothing makes me feel like pulling the trigger. The Onthego GM reminds me of my first attempt at tie dye many many years ago, but I find it a lot to pay for a bit of kitsch nostalgia.
I got the pastel neo noe, pastel mini pochette and blue toiletry 26!
I purchased three items!! The pastel neo noe, blue toiletry 26 and pastel mini pochette
Lucky you! I wanted the red Neverful MM but it is sold out. Also debating whether to get the shawl in red.
To dress up now with a designer bag (and these are logo crazy) is in bad taste, when so many people are worrying about their lives right now.
I agree with you 100% but it is still fun to look.
I don’t like this collection but I do like shade of vivid blue they used on the canvas.
Do they usually restock the sold out items or is it limited edition?
Not typically for a collection like this, but right now nothing is typical so they may have held on to some stock that they’ll release more of!
If you say colorful, I’ll take your word for it since I see gray scale..But my meals are full of fresh vegetables of different colors of gray, and I’m told that feeding us (me and Shiloh) costs so much I only get a lousy Coach doggie collar. Time to go play outside with my family now! Bye bye!?
So sweet! I’ve got my little pooch right beside me. At least we can take our furry friends for walks.
Congratulations!
Interesting & fun but I tend to me more about classic & timeless so not for me for sure. Does have a happy feel though
