Introducing the Louis Vuitton Petite Malle Souple

This fan favorite bag just got a practical, more relaxed makeover...

When Louis Vuitton debuted its Petite Malle a few seasons back, it immediately became a beloved choice for the industry’s most fashionable folk. It was first presented on the runway, and though it was not the brand’s most wearable option, it became a favorite due to its adorable petite size and iconic detailing. Nicolas Ghesquière simultaneously preserved Louis Vuitton’s classic house codes and historic spirit of travel, all the while creating a new design that was modern enough to resonate with handbag lovers.

Modeled after Louis Vuitton’s class trunks, the Petite Malle is almost like buying a piece of Vuitton’s rich history. Since its release, Nicolas Ghesquière has created and introduced many iterations of his popular mini trunk and this season the Petite Malle is given a soft, relaxed makeover. Introducing: the Louis Vuitton Petite Malle Souple.

The Louis Vuitton Petite Malle Souple joins Louis Vuitton’s existing family of trunk-inspired handbags. This brand new design features a compact, yet wearable new shape with a softer feel than its big, but little, sister. Introduced in Monogram Canvas, the bag has an adjustable jacquard strap with Louis Vuitton embroidery on it, which LV fans were first introduced to as part of 2019’s most popular it-bag, the Multi Pochette Accessoires. This new design is just as sleek as the original, yet softer and slightly more functional.

Riveted corners and a leather luggage tag exude Louis Vuitton’s rich tradition, and a removable gold chain allows for multiple styling options. At 5.5″L x 7.9″W x 3.0″D, this compact bag functions well from both day to night. Leather finishes which coordinate with the bag’s strap and interior color make the bag standout, and currently there are two options—black or peach. The bag just launched via Louis Vuitton, and currently limited quantities are available exclusively online for $3,000. What do you think of this new design?

My first thoughts exactly

The bag is cute but it should cost $1000 not $3000, can’t wait for fake news influencers and youtubers to start reviewing and singing praises about this bag

My thoughts exactly – it’s cute, but not $3000 cute. I’d pay 200€ if it wasn’t in that mono canvas. I think the monogram is too much in a small bag. Maybe if they made the letters smaller, like in Mini Lin, it would look more in proportion.

Sparky

I agree. $3000 is shameful for a bag like this.

Over price with low quality. Hate a cheap looking chain. Huge PASS

What do I think of this “new” design? It’s completely “inspired” by Hermes!

I am so sick of LV monogram canvas due to over saturation. It’s so boring to me.

I feel like this is not a new bag. I think that a Youtuber that I watch did a review of this bag or had it on their wishlist last year.

Be that as it may, I like it, and I’m not even a fan of Louis Vuitton. Too much for what it is.
