Rachel Zoe’s handbags available for pre-order at NeimanMarcus.com

Usually when a Bravolebrity starts a handbag or clothing line of some sort, everyone rolls their eyes and frets about the state of the creative arts. But superstylist Rachel Zoe isn’t your average reality TV star; whether you like her personal aesthetic or not, you have to admit that she’s beyond brilliant at what she does. So when rumblings were first heard six months ago that Zoe would be releasing her own line of clothing, shoes and accessories, most people reserved judgment until the line had actually surfaced. The verdict? Not bad, Ms. Zoe. Not bad at all. Not revolutionary, but very serviceable.

Now that the pre-orders for the line are available exclusively through NeimanMarcus.com, we can finally get a close look at the bags and handle on the type of prices Zoe hopes to command. As it turns out, the bags are neutral and functional, and the prices fit right in to the contemporary market. We have purchase information and bigger pictures of our favorites after the jump, or you can shop the entire collection via Neiman Marcus.

Rachel Zoe Melissa Satchel, $475 via Neiman Marcus (this one is my personal favorite)

Rachel Zoe Audrey Snake-Embossed Shoulder Bag, $525 via Neiman Marcus

Rachel Zoe Mandana Satchel, $450 via Neiman Marcus

Not bad at all.

A

Is it just me, or do they look a little like some of the MBMJ bags?

dela

My thoughts exactly!

Dana

Maybe its just me….but i don’t like any of the bags. I think that there definitely functional but aesthetically, i think there are cuter bags out there around the same price point.

Dana

they’re*

I was just over at NM.com taking a look at the collection & I’m drawn to her Pamela tote which looks like a fabulous workhorse of an everyday, grocery shopping & errands kind of bag. The Zoe leather tote looks nice, too; if not a bit played out. I really like the tasteful, understated hardware she’s using. There’s a good chance I’ll wind up with a Pamela…

There ok. It just looks so familiar…been there done that.

I agree that they are nothing special really…but perhaps IRL the quality for the price would make them more appealing to some.

I’ll pass…

Well not extraordinary but I like them a bit Boho ,vintage almost a little bit of a cross between celine louis vuitton featuring fendi spy with the ease of Hermes ????. Anyway in general it’s basic and I don’t think she over did it and for that I congratulate miss Zoe the, that beautiful baby brought inspiration !!!!

Laura

I like the first one-snake embossed shoulder bag.

I like the Audrey tote even though I think that she could have probably knocked off about $300 on the price.

I don’t like the way the straps are attached to any of these. The snaps on the Melissa look cheap, the straps on the Audrey attach awkwardly, and the Mandana just turns me off. The hardware closures look like the Jason Wu closures, and I don’t like them either. One could find prettier functional bags for less.

Cate

Although the bags aren’t really my style, I do appreciate that Zoe has gone the classic route and designed a few nice pieces.

Not liking them at all. I will stick with the tried and true.

Leem

I am liking the Zoe Snake Embossed Tote–if the snake skin looks good.

Amanda

Not exactly investment pieces.
Those bags won’t be worth $500 in six months, let alone lasting a few years.

Scorpio

i think if all the prices dropped about $100, then these bags would seem more worth it… i mean, they are cute and all but… those prices dont really seem worth it
