Mackage x PurseBlog Nomad – $395
I’ve been super excited to share the bag I designed with Mackage, and the time is finally here! We’re pleased to introduce the Mackage x PurseBlog Nomad Bag, which I helped design with the hectic lives of modern women in mind. Even though it’s my first design venture, I knew what I wanted to create: a bag that was functional for my busy life, a bag that is easy to carry and works with everything in my closet, and a bag that stands out from everything else I own.
When I sat down with Elisa and Eran from Mackage, we discussed making a bag that served multiple purposes, and after many iterations, the Nomad was born. It’s actually three bags in one – you can carry it all together, or separate the two storage sections to be carried as two small clutches, plus all options allow you to use the shoulder strap if you’d like. The two sections are connected by a cool zipper that adds a nice metallic element, and the black box leather is sturdy and sleek. We added a special finishing touch with blue edge paint.
I will have tons more photos and information to come, but today is the official release and I am so happy to share the Nomad bag with you!
Can’t wait to see more photos to get a sense of how it would look in use (especially separated into the two pieces)
Their are a lot of good pix on the Mackage web site… shows it in one piece, in 2 pieces, on a model, and so on. The only thing they don’t show is the inside of the bag. I’m wondering if it’s lined or sueded?
To answer my own question, I just heard from CS… it’s lined in cotton. So now we know!
I’m crazy about this bag! Functional, cute, trendy-yet-classic, and a good price point. When will it be available?
It’s pre-order right now, I believe November.
Yes, they updated their website & now it says November 7. SO exciting!
Well I’m lucky. Mine is on its way.
I just pre-ordered. I knew you would create a functional yet sleek design being the bag lover you are. My first Mackage purchase and I am glad it was from you. Congrats and hopefully many more collabs in the future!
So glad you love it – it’s truly a great bag, I’ve been carrying mine for a few weeks now!
Very nice! I like it! Love the clean lines and sleek shape, and its versatility! I also love how simple it is, while being unique. The blue edge paint is a nice touch. Can’t wait to see more pics. Well done Megs!
Megs, I just had a lovely conversation with Mackage CS, and she tells me that the leather in their bags is rather on the thick side. Which is good news/bad news: thick leather (like the original Coach bags) means a sturdy, durable bag, but it also means a heavy bag. How heavy is the Nomad?
It’s truly not that heavy – it is a thick sturdy leather but the weight is not heavy. Not sure how they did it, but they did! I wish I could let you try mine to see 🙂
Glad the CS was so helpful!
And then they were helpful again! I wrote to ask the weight, and they just replied: 2.25 pounds. Considering that it’s 2 bags in 1, and with all the zippers, I think that’s very good!
Just received mine and it is light. Not a hint of heavy at all.
Please post photos on the purseforum if you get a chance. Would love to see the inside and “real life” photos.
What do I post it under? Will do a #pbwimb too!
no offense, but this nomad may not stand out from your L.K.bennett & celine trio…..^_^
totally in love with the blue edge paint! so special and sophisticated and mysterious
Beautiful bag! Congrats! May I just say as mother who needs like ten million bags to carry my belongings and my sons. I love that you can take apart the bag into two separate pieces. I have so many little bags that go into my one big bag and all I can say this bag is for ME. Why haven’t others figured this out yet. So many times I just want to bring the essentials toss it into my “diaper bag” and go. I am so excited!!!! I showed the husband maybe a gift for Christmas!
Will it be available to ship to California? Tried to order and says Canada only.
It will ship to the US – let me ask the Mackage team why it says that!
Is it available to ship to Hong Kong?
What is the inside like? Does it have multiple CC slots, and/or features that can allow me to use it as a wallet (vs. putting a wallet inside)?
Well I just received mine; good-looking bag and while I will keep it, I do find it a little heavy when filled and the one bad thing -for me, anyway, it is very difficult to zip the 2 pieces back together after I have taken them apart. I don’t know if my technique needs to improve or what. The blue edging is not as bright as in the photos – but I haven’t had it out in daylight yet, only under electric light. I just wanted to give my first impressions (got it literally 1/2 hour ago)
