Welcome to the full, luscious, all-leather version of the Gucci Horsebit 1955, officially known as the Gucci Horsebit 1955 Aura. What makes this version stand out is the soft, smooth leather, which allows for easier carrying, adding items, and sitting against the body. Plus, if you had this bag and were able to see just how lush it is, you’d want to tell every single person you converse with to touch it—and that will make you and this bag the talk of the event (in so many ways).
Another positive aspect is that there are four sizes of the Horsebit 1955 Aura: mini, small, medium, and large (the large size is part of the men’s offering and is excellent for carrying more items). The images I am including are of the medium (the Gucci team sent me a sample), and it is incredibly spacious, thanks to its three-gusset construction and equally soft interior lining. It also allows for more expandability due to the leather, so you can overstuff it if you choose.
The Just-Right Bag
One (of many) reasons I keep coming back to this bag is that it isn’t a haul-all tote, but it still fits ample items. I think of it as the just-right bag that could, with its organization and space for typical necessities and then some.
The leather options are all divine and include different colors, including white, lilac, dark green, Rosso Ancora, black, and yellow. In my ongoing love for suede, Gucci also offers a brown suede option (be still my heart). The strap is adjustable, allowing you to determine how you want it to sit on your shoulder or across your body. The classic Horsebit hardware detailing sits on the front flap, designating this as a Gucci bag for those in the know.
