As we all know by now, Victora Beckham’s is one of the rare celebrity fashion lines done right. Not only does Beckham’s brand make a cocktail frock with the kind of painstaking tailoring you don’t find many places, but the precision extends to the line’s excellent handbags and shoes, the latter of which are in collaboration with Manolo Blahnik. I only wish that Beckham’s Spring 2014 runway bags came in more shapes.
Instead, Beckham chose mostly to stick with the duffels and clutches that have seen success for her in the past, except now they’re re-imagined on a more petite scale and in a triangular print that was mirrored in the collection’s clothes. Like many of New York’s collections, the bags were fashioned mainly out of light neutrals, with a healthy dose of black here and there. Beckham may be British, but this is New York, after all.

The triangular print is like the Issey Miyake collection, or have I missed a collaboration?
not a fan
Pfffft….she better get a grip….and fast. We expect more from you Vicky than just mediocre…
Don’t like the triangular print. I’ve always been a bigger fan of the non-runway bags.
Imitation of the issey meyaki baobao. Big dislike
Issey Miyake. 🙂
Finally! I love Victoria’s designs and neutral leather colours, but could never fathom carrying a hand held satchel in such a large size. Wonder what the price point will be – perhaps somewhere in the 2-3 k range?
Personally don’t care for it but to be fair, although the triangle print is reminiscent of Issey Miyake, the shapes are organically Beckham and the overall aesthetic refined and ladylike rather than architectural, sporty or space-age. Somehow I don’t think they’re going for the same customer.
I love her bags my dream is to own one someday. I think the all white triangles are more successful than the white with the shiny black triangles. I love that black bag with the soft brown leather on the interior lining. I like her eye for detail, the structure of her bags, the loop of leather that closes the bag to me adds a bit of whimsey. I am a huge fan.
The lady has style. Timeless classic that is better than Louis Vuitton’s rehash attept as luxe!
Does anyone know why the models, especially Victoria Beckham’s, carry the bags like that on the runway instead of holding them by their handles? I’ve always wondered this. It seems unnatural and distracting to me. Just curious.
