The 15 Best Runway Bags of Paris Fashion Week Fall 2015

Paris Fashion Week is always such a pleasure. The clothes, shoes, accessories and beauty looks on display always eclipse nearly everything that came before them during the first three weeks of fashion month; there’s just something about Paris and what it brings out in the creative minds that inhabit it.

Paris is also home to some of the world’s most important handbag brands, and that means that the week is particularly rich with interesting opportunities for accessory-spotting. Below, we’ve compiled over a dozen of our favorite bags from the Fall 2015 runways.

Alexander McQueen

McQueen’s shows are often so conceptual that they lack bags, but this season’s show included a couple, like this blush croc stunner.

Balenciaga

The Spray Bag came in a bunch of color combinations and at least two sizes on the runway–expect it to be a big push for Balenciaga in the upcoming season.

Balenciaga

Céline

Céline’s runway bags rarely see production for more than a season, but these big hobos were more user-friendly than most.

Celine

Chanel

We could have picked five different bags from the Chanel show–it was chock full of pretty accessories.

Chanel

Chloé

At this point, Chloé has hit its stride. The brand adds just enough bohemian flair to its version of Parisian luxury.

Chloe

Christian Dior

Speaking of brands that have found a really good spot, accessories-wise: Dior just keeps clipping along with beautiful bags.

Kenzo

This revived label is great at making trendy clothes that fashion insiders clamor for, but its still trying to get the bag game together.

Kenzo

Loewe

J.W. Anderson took over the label a couple of seasons ago, and since then, the Spanish brand’s bags have skewed modern and architectural.

Loewe

Louis Vuitton

This collection was full of sublime bag options, but the mini trunks were the most interesting.

Louis-Vuitton

Miu Miu

Miu Miu’s show was wall-to-wall texture, color and print, and somehow, the disparate elements of this bag come together to make it all work.

Nina Ricci

Nina Ricci may have a new designer at its helm after Peter Copping’s departure for Oscar de la Renta, but it appears as though the accessories business is in good hands.

Rochas

This bag would be lightyears better without the giant “R” closure.

Saint Laurent

Saint Laurent is just gonna keep on Saint Laurenting.

Stella McCartney

Stella’s past few bag collections have been so fresh-feeling that I was hoping for a little more from fashion’s favorite vegan handbag purveyor.

Stella-McCartney

Valentino

This bag, like everything that Valentino has put on the runway in recent years, is simply gorgeous.

I know often designers try different things but Miu Miu is a bit cringeworthy here and LV seems to be taking cues from the 80s with their caboodle like bag. I normally don’t like Balenciaga but that bag isn’t bad and I’m a fan of the Chanel bag and Valentino bags but not something I’d personally buy.

the Dior bag is STUNNING! beautiful shape! very elegant and classy. It’s not so in your face like the other bags but still screams luxury and refinement.
the Loewe bag is my favorite out of the “busy” designs. note that interesting shoulder strap!
the ugliest is the Mui Mui. it’s literally on the wild side – tacky and outdated.
Saint Laurent looks cheap. Most of their new designs are pretty much inspired by fellow design house’s best seller #sad

love that alexander wang + louis vuitton !! box cases are so in right now

The Alexander McQueen bag is the only one that stood out to me, everything else looks like they had been made before and no surprises really. The Louis Vuitton mirror hardside case is simply the beauty case with a different finishing, so is the Chanel boy bag. I want to see something unexpected

You hit on a good point–there weren’t many new launches at any of the fashion weeks this year; mostly reworked editions of bags that consumers already like.

The Louis Vuitton bag looks like one of those Caboodles you keep make up in. Really loving that Lowe bag though, the design and color are awesome!

yikes…that miu miu bag is no bueno

I’m kinda underwhelmed with these. I’m not a Balenciaga fan but I like this bag. Not enough to buy it but, I’ll smile when others wear it. I’m still not loving the mosaic Chanel bag. And the Miu Miu’s bag is just plain hideous.

That Nina Ricci bag is classic gorgeousness!
