Fashion Week Handbags: Loewe Spring 2013

Despite the fact that Loewe has increased its ready-to-wear and footwear presences over the past few season, the brand still knows very well which side its bread is buttered on: the handbag side. The Spanish leather goods house always makes sure to include lots of lovely, luxurious, totally wearable bags in its fashion shows, which makes us love them even more than we already do. (And believe me, we love them a lot. Loewe bags are gorgeous, particularly in person.)

True to form, Loewe Spring 2013 was filled with lots of lust-worthy handbags, mostly in shades of orange and tan. The collection’s leather goods had a safari feel to it, with saddle bags (some of which bore a resemblance to certain other popular bags that I’m sure you guys will point out in the comments) in mixed leather and suede that look like they’d be perfect for one of those luxury tours of African wildlife that extremely lucky people get to take. It would have to be a luxury tour, of course; you’re not going to want to get anything in this collection dirty. It’s all too pretty. Check out the full gallery after the jump.

Although I am in absolute love with Loewe’s S13 line, in my opinion, these bags look more suited for FW than Spring due to their deep rich colors and the heavy materials (suede, supple leather, lots of hardware). But they are still gorgeous nonetheless.

Although I am in absolute love with Loewe’s S13 line, I feel that the textiles (rich and supple leather, suede) used are more appropriate for a FW collection. Also, the colors (blacks, deep tans) are more reflective of a FW line as well. However, I still adore the bags. Just think they are more suited for another season.

I agree, it does seem rather fall-like.
