Fashion Week Handbags: Jason Wu Spring 2012

All images via Vogue.com

He might be relatively young by fashion designer standards, but Jason Wu is nothing if not reliable. That’s even more impressive when you consider that he’s only been including handbags as part of his line for a couple of seasons; where most designers might still be feeling around to find their accessories aesthetic, Jason Wu’s Spring 2012 handbags feel relaxed and confident.

The collection continues on the Fall 2011 python trend with slim clutches and ladylike day bags with chain straps in a relatively muted color scheme with the occasional dazzling glimpses of cobalt blue and lime green. These are bags that are part of an ensemble instead of taking over the entire thing, and with clothes as lovely as Mr. Wu’s, that’s exactly the role they should play.

they are all so lovely and versatile! I am especially in love with the creme/beige one and the pink one. I also like how he puts leather strap options on some of the bags too for those who don’t want the chain. They’re like pokemon card! gotta catch them all. Can’t wait until the collection comes out! Gonna snatch the light beige on for sure.

another thing to add: i have to admit that the black and white floral one reminds me of the floral clutch that chanel came out with a long time ago.
