The 24 Best Bags of the Resort 2017 Runway Shows and Lookbooks

Resort and pre-fall shows are always harder to pin down than the spring and fall shows that take place during the global fashion week circuses, but as the in-between collections become ever more important to designers’ bottom lines, the hype around them (and the availability of photos of the collections) has increased exponentially. This season, some brands took their Resort 2017 shows to locales as far-flung as Havana and Rio de Janeiro, while others stuck to the tried-and-true formula of public lookbooks and private showings for fashion insiders.

No matter which track brands took, we tracked down as many collection photos as we could to examine the bags included therein and see what’s next. Not all brands release resort images with clear shots of accessories, so if your favorite designer is missing, well: we did our best. Check out the most notable finds in our search below and let us know which is your favorite in the comments!

love slide #8 and #16!

KloeF

Dear God – what is this thing Dior calls a bag? It’s horrendous. It looks like a cheap something from 2002.

mocheetoe

yes! also vaguely resembles a bastardized Givenchy Pandora

Kloe F

Haha totally!

Charlie

Love CHANEL and Givenchy, hate Dior and LOUIS VUITTON

Sandy

I really like how Allesandro Michele is talking old grandma ish patterns and making them so modern and fresh! I really adore Gucci now!

Vincent Mosher

Totally agree!

Imgoingbroke

I LOVE Gucci!

Sparky

The Bally is cute.

Canuck65

Love the Bottega Veneta Bag – my absolute fav of them all – there seems to be trend of over embellishment – not a fan

Passerine

Ditto. And what’s even better is that it was just one part of a superb BV collection.

Theo

Have we hit peak-appliqué? Critical mass embroidery?

sdaniels

the coach bag is beautiful , i’m thinking the Zac Posen bag was inspired by the Fendi design with florals. or is it just me? i’m in love with the Bottega its a great shape in a lovely color. i love the color of the Gucci bag too. great bag there but the Nina Ricci bags looks too plain for me.

sasha

So many of these bags seem inspired by past and present Chloe collections…

kathyjazz

Bags that come with toys. Bags that look like toys…

ChristieG

Some of these bags seem so silly to me, like you’d give your five-year-old to carry. Love, love, love the BV bag. The only one I’d even consider purchasing.

beacuz

I like the Rag and bone for fall bag

Dana Hansen

I love some of these purses and I put them on my Fashion Board, Pinterest.

Dana Hansen

Montecito Women, Pinterest great purses.

Lily

Adore the new BV bag!

Smithy

Ugh — Rebecca Minkoff, get a life. Find your own style.

Halim Amin

Thank heavens for designers who give us both end of the spectrum, the customers are free to choose. Just as I love the simplicity of the work bag from Rag and Bone, I also adore the embroidered rosettes from Gucci and also the heirloom quality of the whimsy LV Speedy. When a fashion pundit breaks out in a graffiti Stephen Sprouse years later, we understand the zeitgeist at work when the designer imagined the design!

Rochelle

Love the rag & bone <3

Dina Amatoury

Great selection for the resort bags. I am really liking the more simple bags like the rag and bone and the givenchy. I’m sick of all the playful and comic bags flooding the market.

Kathryn

Couldn’t agree more! Would like to see more of this rag and bone bag. Is it one handle?
