Valentino shows some restraint

If brevity is the soul of wit, what’s the soul of fashion? I like maximalism as much as anyone (in fact, probably far more than most people), but the grandiosity of it can feel exhausting from time to time. The trends toward layering textures, colors and prints are some of my favorite fads in years, but that doesn’t mean I can’t look at the Valentino Satin Bow Box Clutch and think that it seems positively refreshing by comparison.

Valentino often goes maximal with its accessories, so the subtle charms of this little clutch are even more welcome. From the perfect shade of blush to the expertly obscured slot for hand-carry, this is an evening bag that doesn’t try to overshadow whatever beautiful dress with which you’ve surely paired it.

I’m one of those people who can’t tie a pretty, symmetrical bow to save her life, so the precision of the one that accents this clutch is all the more appealing to me. With the color, material and sleek feel, I can’t help but think that this would be the perfect evening bag to take to the ballet. Just make sure that your ensemble lives up to this bag’s quiet glamour. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $845.

Simply beautiful. This is a work of art without being over the top. So pretty and feminine-I love it!

This bag is perfect for the haute couture collection of the brand but nothing more. It’s boring, stupid and too pink and sweet oh gosh, pelase, no!

I do love the simplicity of this little bag, but the light pink is really turing me off…it is too sweet. I think in black or a nice steel grey it would have a bit more of an edge, but not lose that classic style…

It will make a very pretty wedding bag. But I can’t really see this in the hands of either the woman getting married, or someone attending the wedding.

*other than in the hands.

I like the color, but I agree with Kat. It’s too bridal.

So lady like!

Aggie

It’s pink, satin, and has a bow on it? Yes please! 😀

Beautiful! I would love to carry this bag.

It’s lovely as a wedding bag. Otherwise it’s too prissy to take anywhere else, even to a ballet.

As I am married already (and have no plans for a second wedding) I will have to take this little beauty to the ballet.

As much as I love the shape and the bow, the color is a bit too girly for me to see this as anything more than a novelty purchase. Plus satin clutches look old so fast!

A bit too minimal, I think. It reminds me of a Target evening bag.
