At the moment, Dior is in a holding pattern. Spring 2016 was Raf Simons’s last season as the brand’s creative director and parent company LVMH has yet to name his replacement; there was a similar gap between Simons’s appointment and the ouster of predecessor John Galliano. Dior has a history and heritage like few others in the luxury market, and that means the house design team can sustain it for a bit while the brand’s executives make sure they make the right hire–no one’s going to forget about Dior just because the brand was relatively quiet for six months or a year.
Luckily, Simons’s time with the brand gave the house team a huge, strong foundation upon which to work in his absence. Pre-Fall 2016 includes beautiful new iterations of the popular Lady Dior and Diorama Bags, as well as new Diorever Totes, which was Simons’s last big bag debut. The lineup also includes multiple versions of two new additions, the simple, pretty Blossom Tote and the more complicated Stardust Backpack, both of which come in two different sizes. Neither is a revelation, but they both attractive options that help flesh out the line and give shoppers something new to consider.

Nice to see a back pack in the mix but not crazy about the top handle/strap construction. Looks like it could be twisted up into a cats cradle too easily.
every one stunning – even the silly ones
Really like the backpacks! Unexpectedly
I really like the shape and silhouette of the backpacks, but some of the colors and fabrications are odd.
I’d love to have one of the mini Blossom totes. I like the clean, sleek look which is the total opposite of my usual handbag style.
While I don’t like the tote, I love the diorama and pouch/chained bag. Love Dior. It’s just so expensive
Also, cant wait to see Rihanna rock the bookbag which she gets for free lol
So many of these I’d love to buy but they are too expensive for me. I don’t go to the boutique because there’s no point – I’d just look at price tags and walk out empty handed. Gucci has a good price range but (unlike everyone else) I don’t like the new direction they are going.
okay- those backpacks are stunning!!
Give me everything!!! Especially Slide 16!
Excuse me while I freeze my AMEX in a block of ice and cut off my internet connection…
LOL!

i dont like the blossom tote
I do not understand the Stardust backpacks! Others are good.
love the backpack hate the name. it’s the kind of name personally that if someone asked me I would just say I forget and call it “the new backpack”

Thanks for showcasing one of my two favorite brands! I’m looking forward to seeing what the new designer brings to the table. Raf’s short tenure was phenomenal but I think we are needing something new. The Diorama is always gorgeous but I’m surprised by the ombré offering in #5. Aren’t we (thankfully) a few seasons past that trend? I really like the washed metallic in #7 and #24.
I’m still waiting on a good tote from Dior since the discontinuance of the soft tote. The Ultradior is beautiful and I would buy it in a minute it if wasn’t completely impractical without interior pockets. And I really don’t like the Blossom tote. The best I can say about it is that it’s boooooring.
I’m not a backpack or cutesy embellishment gal so I wouldn’t buy these versions but they are definitely fun.
I love the blossom charms, but not really the bag itself – I wonder if they will sell the charms separately?
the backpacks are adorable and cute!
