For Spring 2021, Chloé Spotlights Its Newest Bags

And new hardware is a focus throughout

By now it’s impossible to ignore that this season looks a whole lot different for fashion, and the seasons to follow will likely remain forever changed by the events of 2020. And even still, designers are hopeful for the future. Chloé, under the direction of creative Director Natacha Ramsay-Levi, has embraced these sentiments of hope, calling the brand’s spring 2021 collection and presentation ‘A Season In Hope’. For this presentation, the brand embraced the new digital/physical format, exploring the concept of walking and watching. Models strolled the streets of Paris engaging in mundane moments of the everyday, before converging on the courtyard of the Palais de Tokyo to walk the runway.

Chloe’s creative director Natacha Ramsay-Levi has embraced her role at the brand, choosing to infuse her own aesthetic with the brand’s romantic, feminine and bohemian DNA. She’s slowly moved away from the designs left behind by her predecessor, and this season Ramsay-Levi was inspired by a woman’s everyday wardrobe. As for the handbags, Ramsay-Levi has experimented with new designs in past seasons and this season she continues to put the focus on brand new silhouettes and shapes.

New hardware is a key element for spring 2021, on jewelry, belts and of course, bags. Dubbed the Chloé Kiss, this new element is a sculptural gilded motif that is seen on the brand’s new hobo bag, functioning as either a top handle on the smaller silhouette or a detail on the larger silhouette. Another new bag is a focus this season as well, called the Hailey, this bag is a barrel-shaped handbag in smooth calfskin with a brushed gold frame and soft drawstring sides. The Daria made an appearance as well, emblazoned with late artist Corita Kent’s joyful and hopeful motifs emphasizing the power of community.

Alice

Very innovative and interesting, but not fir me.

Gotta give them props for being different. I like the sculptural hardware…like jewelry. But not quite executed well…i wouldnt want to carry a purse by the hardware. Also, the cinched ends mess up the aesthetic for me.

Ahh I would’ve wish you guys showed the bright green bag they had! Most interesting piece in the collection and I can’t find many images of it up close ?????

Sandy

I like the bag with the flap and green strap, not sure I would buy it, I do like it.

I’m not crazy about these.

FashionableLena

I really like the bag in picture 3. It’s cute.

I’m curious about the first bag. I am hoping that the drawstrings on the side don’t actually open.

Adele

#3 and #4 are interesting. #4 feels very Loewe maybe

kemilia

Pretty awful. I agree with the dog’s behind comment too.

Irma Segovia

The duffle bag would have been really cool without the drawstring.

Number 3 is good for pics but can’t wear it comfortably now can we? Maybe it’s just so influencers can take photos? Sigh

Jessica

Oh look, a Hermes Lindy with HUGE hardware!!

Haters Suck

One word, “YIKES!”

I like the looks, colors and the soft leather, but these are useless for everyday life.

I’ve never had a particular interest in Chloé bags, but I have to say I love every single one of these! Hardware is still a focus, but it is toned down to just one or two statement gestures, and not dangly and noisy small bits, which I love. It’s streamlined. I also love the shocking green strap on black. Very pleasantly surprised by Natacha this season!
