While I have attended many fashion shows over my two decades in this industry, I have never been to a haute couture show. This is an important distinction, as haute couture showcases exclusive, unique, handmade garments that are custom-fitted high for individual customers.
At times, a bag is peppered onto the runway of a Haute Couture show, but the vast majority of bags you’ll see are on the attendees. And that’s what we saw this go round. Chanel’s very loyal fanbase grows every season with its varying updates and renditions of classic bags, alongside limited edition designs as well.
While the internet and social media have made it far more likely that we will see many of these bags and become accustomed to them, it is forever a reminder for me of how well the House of Chanel has expanded on its designs to remain one of the largest names and most sought-after when it comes to designer bags.
These were our favorite snaps of Chanel bags outside the Paris show earlier this week!
Dressing for a Haute couture fashion show seems to have gone the same direction as air travel. If I was invited to the show, the last thing I would wear would be denim jeans, flat black, work, boots, while burning a cigarette. The fashion show was stunning with ethereal textures, and colors. The attendees, not so much.
Well, you’re not invited.
The cigarette next to the Chanel heart bag makes my heart hurt! I once bought a preowned bag that unbeknownst to me lived in a smokers home and it was impossible to remove the odor, after a bag repair shop tried their best to clean it they ended up repainting it too just take out the smell…. It’s really the worst thing to do to a bag in my opinion- cigarettes then strong perfume just ruin it for me.
I’ve made that mistake too–but it is fixable! It takes time and a little effort. Wipe the bag down with a damp cloth that doesn’t leave lint (do NOT do this with patent leathers). Open a bag of ground coffee. Place it in the handbag. Cover it with a plastic bag. Wait a day or two, check it. If you can still smell the cig stench, leave it. Once the smell of the coffee beans takes over, remove the plastic, remove the coffee beans. Let the bag sit in the open air. Then just plop something inside the bag that’s scented (a scent you like, say No. 5), cover again with the plastic bag. Vintage will never be new, but that’s part of the charm. Vintage Chanel, Lagerfeld Chanel–so worth preserving, and using!
I love the look of Chanel but after Chanel refused to fix a brand new shopping tote I can’t justify the prices for how they treat good customers. LV by contrast has amazing customer service and stands by its product!!!!
That looks fake. Chanel’s after service is amazing!
I bought this bag at Chanel Washington DC city center store. It’s only fake if Chanel sells fakes. And I don’t know what you mean by after service but the service for me was horrible (no service!).
Agreed!
Your bag is fake
Unless Chanel sells fake bags, this bag isn’t fake! I purchased at Chanel DC city center!!! It has a warranty Chanel won’t honor! Sad though everyone on this website thinks a real Chanel is a fake—what does that tell you!?!
I’ve seen your above posted image earlier. What exactly is wrong with the bag?
I don’t really understand what’s wrong with it either, it just looks a bit squished and odd. Maybe the issue doesn’t translate on camera? To the owner, have you tried an insert to push back out the sides?
Yeah it’s squished or looks crumbled. And it was a brand new bag, and looked like that out of the original packaging. The bag is with Chanel but they’re a hard no on fixing it.
Thank you, the sides of bag are crumpled in. Chanel repair specialist said they’ve never seen a bag like this … alas Chanel won’t fix!!!
I’ve never seen so many hideous bags and outfits at a Chanel show! wow
That Chanel mini bowling bag in red color is to die ❣️❣️
My personal favorite is Trendy CC medium it’s the best bag ever
The gift box miniaudiere is a total slay!
My favourite too. It looks like a VERY high end tea caddy 🙂
I prefer the bag in the first photo. It looks like a VERY high end tea caddy
