WSJ Magazine‘s annual Innovators Awards helped populate our virtual pages this week. Julianne Moore and artist Cindy Sherman were among those honored with an award, but the guest list was chock-full of supermodels. This is a well-timed parade of supermodels though, because designer holiday wish lists need to be filled out promptly, and if you haven’t given yours much thought, their bag, shoe and wardrobe picks should provide you with plenty of inspiration.
Dua Lipa
Pop singer Dua Lipa paid a visit to the BBC’s Zoe Ball show armed with this striking, neon green Stalvey Bag.
Gigi Hadid
When you think of innovators, you naturally think of supermodels! Here’s Gigi Hadid, headed into the 2019 WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards carrying a chunky, blue mystery bag that’s very reminiscent of the funky Ottolinger Silicone Bag she carried a few weeks ago.
Irina Shayk
Irina Shayk also made an appearance at the 2019 WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards, and she brought along a Burberry TB Mini Bag.
Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian was spotted hauling around this rare, red alligator Birkin while out and about with Kanye. I’ve heard tale that she is dressing more conservatively since Kanye…started a church (or something) and frankly, that makes me kind of sad.
Martha Hunt
Model Martha Hunt also attended the 2019 WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards, and she carried a black The Row Ascot Bag.
Audrina Patridge
Here’s Audrina Partridge, walking the red carpet of the Frozen 2 premiere with an old school Louis Vuitton Papillon Bag.
Maria Menounos
Maria Menounos brought this black Chanel WOC to the Love Leo Rescue’s 2nd Annual “Cocktails for a Cause” event.
Rosie Huntington-Whitely
Finally, we have the ever-glamorous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, out on the town in NYC with a squeezable pink Bottega Veneta Puffer Intrecciato Zip-Top Clutch Bag.
I’d be very happy to never see another Kardashian photo with a Birkin. There’s nothing new, exciting or innovating there. I would imagine 99.9% of your subscribers don’t aspire to owning a Birkin. Birkins have been around for many years and there’s nothing new or exciting about them.
Sounds like someone is having trouble getting offered a birkin…
Or then there are actually people who don’t want to own one and don’t think they are that great looking either. There are so many different tastes and no matter what the status symbol value for some, Birkin holds no special value to others, that includes me.
The fussy closure and no shoulder strap makes the Birkin an uncomfortable bag for me. The Jypsiere, on the other hand, is by far the most gorgeous bag Hermes has ever come up with.
I would also be very happy if I never saw a picture of a Kardashian ever again. No matter what bag they carry! 🙂
In their defence, what did they ever do to you? Judgemental hater that wishes you had their lifestyle, looks and cash. Period. Quit acting so self righteous. You read this blog so that means you obviously are into high end items you probably can’t afford. I’d you could, you WOULD not be so offended by the Kardashians.
HAHAHA Thank you but I’m a well-rounded, well-accomplished human being who is privileged enough to live a comfortable life. I don’t envy their financial success, I certainly don’t envy their physical appearance, and I don’t aspire to be a TV reality celebrity! ? However, clearly you do!
Yup. Clearly. That’s why you waste the energy slamming them. Give credit where it’s due. A Clearly well rounded individual who’s only contribution to a fashion blog is slamming them.
Keep up your fantasy and false persona behind your cyber shelter dear.
Okay. 🙂 I’m sorry your standards are so low… your choice, though.
To this list I would like to add the reality “stars” especially the Housewives who go to Craig’s whoring for paps’ attention
Agreed
Agree 100%.
99.9% feels like a very deflated number of subscribers interested in owning a Birkin. I purchase them and love them! To each their own, I guess.
If it’s bad to worship a birkin…which is a type of purse…what brings you to PURSEblog???
Other bags. :’D
No, she wrote that KANYE started a church (or something). Not Kim. And according to Emily this has (presumably) affected Kim’s clothing choices.
I saw a commercial (on Instagram if I remember correctly) about KUWTK where Kanye did tell Kim that he doesn’t like it (maybe not the exact wording) when she dresses “too sexy”, or something like that. But I have no idea to which extent these shows (and actions, regarding the clothing choices I mean) are staged, I’d assume that this has all been thought out and planned before hand and that this is all just a act for the cameras, but what do I know.
I understand your point, but slightly disagree. I was raised to believe that nothing tangible, especially objects of a spiritual or biblical nature, should be “worshipped”. I adore the beauty and functionality of my handbags, but “worship” them, no. Worship implies paying homage and I don’t do this with any of my bags, including my Birkins. Does Kim K. “worship” her Birkins? I don’t know, but I would hope not and would think she has more important things in her life.
I think that bag that Gigi Hadid is carrying in pic # 2 is the 97p Chanel Melon Shaped Resin Lucite Ball Mini Bag. Super hard to find, more so in that green shade, but so adorable.
Wow! I wonder if Rosie Huntington will be the new face of Bottega Veneta. That was a F/W 2019 dress. Everytime I see her, she always have something from Daniel Lee’s collection.
