See All the Dior Bags Celebs Brought to the Guggenheim International Gala

Ain't no party like a Dior-sponsored party

The annual Guggenheim International Gala is a more traditional gala (if you’re an NYC-based celebrity accustomed to going to galas, that is) that celebrates key philanthropists and such. There are speeches, a seated dinner, live music and, of course, sponsors. This year the event just happened to be sponsored by Dior, so celebrities planned appropriately. If you’re a hardcore Dior fan, prepare to pick your jaw off the floor and mop up some drool.

Jamie King

Jamie King brought this beautiful black and white Dior Saddle Bag. Her outfit is also Dior.

Charlotte Groeneveld

Black and white was clearly on-trend that evening: Here’s influencer Charlotte Groeneveld with her black and white Dior Lady Bag.

Brittany Xavier

Her fellow influencer Brittany Xavier wore this stunning Dior dress and carried a black leather Dior Saddle Bag.

Kat Graham

Actress and musical artist Kat Graham brought along an especially artful version of the Dior Lady Bag.

Harley Viera-Newton

Harley Viera-Newton carried this embellished mystery clutch. We’re gonna guess that it’s Dior, but this style has us stumped. Can anyone fill in the details?

Vashtie Kola

Vashtie Kola (a darling of the downtown arts scene) carried a supple burgundy leather Diordirection Bag.

Zosia Mamet

Zosia Mamet suited up with a simple Dior Addict Logo Print Bag.

Anna Baryshnikov

Finally, here’s actress Anna Baryshnikov, carrying a metallic leather Dio(R)evolution Flap Bag. Like most of the evening’s celeb guests, she is dressed in Dior (and presumably, by Dior).

I love Jamie’s look. I wouldn’t wear the sweater as oversized, but the look is stunning from head-to-toe.

Number 5 is the Dior Tarot Pouch, I believe it came out in 2017.

Jamie B

Harley’s bag is the Dior Tarot Clutch, version L’Etoile (meaning the star).

Honestly looking at Dior just bums me out. It used to be one of my favorite, and now I can’t find a single thing I want. I suppose the change of direction can’t be for everyone, though it sure feels like it alienated previously loyal customers.

I used to love every single thing Dior made. It celebrated curves, femininity, the allure of the woman, while still being modern. This is just dumpy. ?

SunnyQ

Dumpy is the kindest word I could call the trainwreck that Dior has become. ?

I don’t know who any of these people are except for Jamie (and I can’t recall why she’s famous) and Zosia. Do I live under a rock or are these people not actually famous?

SunnyQ

I see the replies below but I still agree with you. This still seems like a list of rather uncelebrated “celebrities”. ?

Kat Graham is an actress who starred in The Vampire Diaries for years. She’s released an album and is an active champion of LGBTQI rights.

highrider9o9

jaime king is an actress. She was also a supermodel during the 90’s.

I don’t know who she is but Vashtie Kola looks very much like Meghan Markle in my opinion! She could be her sister. Or half sister, as she’s darker/has less caucasian features. 🙂

God these Dior looks are bru-tal, where’s the budget? Doesn’t look like designer to me, looks kind of basic. Dior was always so ahead of the curve and now it looks like it’s been propelled backwards 50 years, none of these women look particularly chic, and the clothes aren’t desirable at all. The bustier on that dress in the second picture looks like a four year old drew it, the huge wide belts are SO unflattering, fabrics don’t look designer, silhouettes are the SAME SILHOUETTES she’s been doing season after season, those ugly Dior straps that look like a VS sports bra, like WTHHHHHH. I’m not trying to hate but I just don’t understand the direction Maria is taking this brand, I don’t get it, I probably never will, her whole thing is female empowerment and all these women look awful, all I’m gonna say is that there’s strength in beauty, you can look beautiful and feminine and still be a strong female, you don’t have to dump it down to be taken seriously. Who the hell wants a tarot card clutch?!!!!

SunnyQ

Yes, yes, YES!! ? Dior was my favorite brand. But, I dislike almost everything she’s been doing. She doesn’t “get” Dior’s feminine mystique. These designs are just plain ugly and unflattering.

?4ladyfox

You are spot on!

Bryan Lepe

If the waist was nipped in on #3 it would be so much more flattering. Her shoulders shouldn’t be close to the same width as the waist on the dress she’s lost her shape and looks boxy.

Sick of the undies-baring designs. How do you spell done-to-death? D-I-O-R
