Just Can’t Get Enough: Miranda Kerr and Her Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag

When I first set out to see which bag supermodel Miranda Kerr has been carrying lately, I expected to find plenty of photos with her and her beloved Hermès Birkin; it’s been an omnipresent piece in her impressive collection for years. Instead, I found repeated appearances by her Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag, and I totally understand why: carrying one of these bags is kind of addictive.

When I first saw pictures of the MG Bucket Bag online a few years ago, I remember thinking that it was a beautiful bag at a great price, but probably not for me. I was very particular about wanting certain functional things in a bag: an exterior pocket for my phone, at least one interior organizational compartment, a full closure for safety on the subway. The designers contacted me and offered to send me one, and I accepted, but I figured I wouldn’t use it very much, which is what happens with most of the free bags that come my way. I like what I like and I’m willing to pay for it, even in the face of gifts from brands.

But then, a funny thing happened: I used my first Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag all the time. I carried it without cease for over a year, and then when I added new ones to my collection, I carried those constantly. I bought other bags in that time, but they never quite made it into the rotation. I walk a lot and like to be able to fit everything I need in one bag, and MG bags are extremely lightweight and roomy. It was the easiest bag in the world to carry for my lifestyle, and it had the benefit of also being incredibly chic.

Miranda has bags from all the most exclusive brands in the world in her collection and can carry literally whatever she wants because she has the benefit of a driver at her disposal, and I’m sure some of you will wonder why she’d give this one the time of day. But Miranda, girl: I get you.

It really is a lovely sleek handbag. Just turned off by the company trying to make themselves so hard to get. It’s like going into a hot restaurant and being told there is an hours wait time. Even though there are available seats…

I just got my Rosa bucket bag, haven’t used it yet since it’s been raining nonstop here and I’m nervous to use it! Any idea if/when the leather softens? Is that with wear? It’s pretty stiff. 🙂

I live in portland, or and rain hasn’t affected mine.

Good to know! Thank you!

I have 4 and I treat them badly and they look great! There’s a tiny bit of wear on the corners, but considering I set them down on concrete I’m pretty happy with how they’re holding up. I use my black bucket almost everyday. To keep things organized, I use a few cosmetic pouches. But I’ve never been good about using pockets anyway.
