Celebrities May Be Having a Major Case of the Mondays, But Their Bag Game is Still Solid

As a legitimate celebrity, a good portion of your waking hours are spent trying to avoid being photographed at inopportune times, from inopportune angles and in inopportune outfits. But as we all know, when someone else has the camera in hand, it’s a losing battle. Half of the celebs featured in our first bag round-up of the week are obviously resentful of having their photo taken, and we don’t even blame them. Sometimes you have to dash out of the house in sweats. Unfortunately, if you’re a celeb, these moments must be preserved for posterity. But hey, Kate Walsh, at least you were carrying a nice Céline bag?

LAX is the great equalizer. Here’s a harried Charlize Theron, exiting the airport with an attractive black woven Bottega Veneta bag that she definitely does not have time to show you right now.

And here’s E! hostess Giuliana Rancic, also leaving LAX, who will briefly humor you with a glimpse of her off-white Céline tote, but only briefly.

Lanvin Sugar Shoulder Bag

Julianne Moore spends a large part of her year in NYC, and like most NYC celeb residents, she is pap-tolerant but not especially pap-friendly. Here she is carrying a Lanvin bag while waiting at a crosswalk somewhere in downtown NYC.

Here’s Kate Walsh, obviously unhappy that the paps caught her in her sweats in Studio City, CA. Her bright red Nano looks a little too cheery for her mood.

Back in NYC, someone caught Nicky Hilton carrying a Proenza Schouler PS11. Nicky has been carrying a PS1 on and off for years, but now it seems she’s made the upgrade to the PS11. Her commitment to Proenza Schouler continues to intensify.

Actress Rosario Dawson recently walked the red carpet at the LA premiere of Marvel’s new Daredevil series for Netflix with a darling multi-colored clutch from Edie Parker, which paired nicely with her ruffled Roksanda Ilincic dress.

Tamron Hall
Givenchy Rottweiler Antigona Tote

NBC News correspondent Tamron Hall was recently spotted leaving Rockefeller Center in NYC with a Givenchy Rottweiler Antigona Tote in tow. The Rottweiler tote seems like an especially appropriate choice for an intrepid journalist like Tamron.

check out the expression on Giuliana!! Yikes.

Bottega Veneta for me is number one brand. I love their bags, small leather goods and even shoes. They have very good quality. So classy and elegant their stuff. My experience even with the sales associates in different countries they are so well.

Carn Waxler

Yes, it’s a great brand. Not wildly creative, but that’s not their mission. I’m leaning toward getting their Olimpia bag in black — it’s a perfect shoulder bag — if only I could splurge on the Olimpia AND the Lanvin Sugar Bag in brocade (see pic above)…

Lina Lee

I agree with you. Sometimes they do surprise with the creative side. One of the reasons I love this brand Simplicity. I was going to buy Olimpia in black in large size bag, but I did get another bag from another brand. This summer I want to buy https://www.pinterest.com/pin/504192120758138308/ and I also like this bag https://www.pinterest.com/pin/504192120759514183/ I don’t know to get both or to have just one of the bags. About you Olimpia and the Lanvin Sugar Bag are beautiful bags. If I have to choose between the two bags I’ll go with the Olimpia not with Lanvin bag. Of course, you know what you want in your collection. 🙂

Carn Waxler

Oh, I’ll get the Olimpia (probably the larger size, but I have to try them both on and see). I just love that Lanvin fabric sugar bag. However, i found out Lanvin also has a small evening bag available in the fabric and I think I will get that too. The bag would have only been for evening/special occasion use anyway, it’s totally unsuitable for everyday use.

FWIW, if someone likes BV woven leather look but can’t quite afford BV prices, there is a German brand, Abro, that makes good quality, moderately priced, woven bags (in Europe, not China). Not BV level of craftsmanship, of course, but the bags are still well made. http://www.abro.de/en/woven/

Lina Lee

Of course then you can decide which to get. My evening bag is Pochette in Epi leather in black and I love it. I did use it going to the restaurants in the evening and weddings. Bottega they do have less expensive bags for an Ex: http://www.bottegaveneta.com/us/shoulder-or-hobo-bag_cod45207023fo.html http://www.bottegaveneta.com/us/shoulder-or-hobo-bag_cod45191132uq.html http://www.bottegaveneta.com/us/shoulder-or-hobo-bag_cod45207088ho.html you have some other bags in the website are less than 2000$. Thx for sharing this info. I did check the website. 🙂

The Lanvin Sugar shoulder bag looks like it’s a perfect size. I think shoulder bags are going to be big again.

Carn Waxler

I agree with you about shoulder bags. I’ve been looking for a new bag and my favorites have all been shoulder bags. And yes, the Lanvin bag is the perfect size. I would love to have it in the special brocade fabric! I never buy a bag without trying it in real life, but I’m tempted to just go for it and pre-order.

lavinia

I had the same thought: this is the perfect size, not too small not too big. I love that Lanvin bag 🙂

Karisma

The Rottweiler bag, sorry, but it just makes no sense to me at all! It just reminds me that you can sell rich people just about anything.

Sparkletastic

Agree. It’s a really ugly, tacky bag.

Amy

Saw a girl in my university carrying this and I did the biggest double take because I thought I would never see that bag except on celebs. Guess I was wrong. For what it’s worth, it didn’t look as bizarre as I thought it would in the everyday world 🙂

Jen Kelly

Don’t like the Rottweiler bag horrible. The rest are good, especially the Bottega Veneta and Rihanna’s Dior. But expensive, until I’m a millionaire I will just get my bags from BeauSansLogo.com its all designer, celebrity style and genuine leather, but the price tag is a fraction. Their Birkin style bags are their best seller. 🙂

Like the sugar bag… Could we get a review of the new sugar day bag?

Megs Mahoney Dusil

Ya! I need to try to find one to try out. I’ll pop into a boutique next week so I can do a review!
