Like many New Yorkers, I very rarely wear color. My wardrobe consists of mostly neutrals like black and grey plus shades of white and beige with the occasional navy blue thrown in. And while I’m much more likely to reach for color if it’s in the form of an accessory, I only own one bag that isn’t a neutral—my red Saint Laurent Sac de Jour.
Recently I was scrolling through my social feeds when I spotted actress Laura Harrier in a full orange look and instantly my thoughts on color changed. I stopped mid scroll to take in her look, including her edgy little orange bag. While I wouldn’t have thought about shades of orange as being a color for me at first, I’m now considering adding brighter hues to my palette.

I’m like you in that I have very little color in my wardrobe, or if I do it’s for things to go with the blacks and greys (like a maroon/black pattern top or something).
And yet this burnt orange color is *so* so gorgeous and tempting. I’d love to see more color this fall in fashion, we need it after all this misery!

I own that exact mini Bottega pouch in light orange and it COMPLETELY changed how I looked at orange in general! I bought it in January and even rocked it in the winter months (pre-quarantine) and it looked so so cool. How small is the inside? I usually only carry a card holder, keys, phone, and chapstick. I’m now carrying a mask and small hand sanitizer. Do you think the mini pouch would hold all of that? Thanks!
Most definitely should because all the above items I carry as well and I just make sure I have a rlly small hand sanitizer bottle that I constantly refill every few days at home, and the mask well… that folds rlly small so. The phone is the most troublesome (depending on the model of corse) but still doable.

I love loud, vibrant colors. Orange is just not one of them. The color just doesn’t look good on me. I have an orange handbag which I haven’t used in years.
