Happy (almost) Independence Day! Here at PurseBlog, we’re using the Fourth of July (along with every other major holiday) as an excuse to buy a new bag. Hey, can you blame us?
This time around, we have our eyes on anything red, white, and blue (or denim). Lucky for you, we actually found quite a few options. From totes to crossbodies and shoulder bags, these picks are perfect for any and all July 4th events you may have committed to (Barbecues! Beach days! Rooftop fireworks!), and even better, many of them can be worn year-round as a way to spice up everyday outfits, such as a T-shirt and jeans. Festive and practical? Yep, we’re sold.
Browse the list and you’ll notice quite a few Gucci bags made the cut (clearly the fashion house has a thing for red, white, and the occasional blue color combo). There’s also an enticing Valentino spiked shoulder bag in blue and red. (#Goals.) Plus, find a handful of picks under $550, from Kate Spade to Marc Jacobs, and Yuzefi.
If I had my choice, I’d go for the Valentino I mentioned above or the Fendi Baguette in denim. What about you?
I like the Longchamp tote since it’s fun with an Hermes vibe. The Kate Spade is practical and inexpensive. I live in Denver where stadiums require see through bags so this is perfect.
The clear bag rule is all over I think. I’ve been to few stadiums on the East Coast that have the same rule. I just take a plastic bag lol but I agree the Kate Spade is cute!!!
Love the Valentino and the Fendi. The Kate Spade looks like those clear makeup bags you can buy in CVS for two bucks. Cute article!
That Prada bag is so ugly.
The Prada books looks really cheaply made. My daughter got a $40 bag from Macy’s this weekend and the quality actually looks better.
It’s a Prada “bag” not “books” :). However, your point is well taken. This bag was showcased in an earlier post, to mostly negative reviews, so I’m surprised it’s raising it’s ugly head again. 🙂
It would have been nice to include some bags actually made in the U.S., no matter what color they are…
What companies are based in the US? Most luxury bags are made in Italy, France, and Spain. Coach (china), Kate Spade (Italy), and Tory Burch (china). I googled and not one luxury bag is made in the US.
correction there are no well known brands made in the US.

So what if they’re not well known? Isn’t it part of PurseBlog’s purpose to tell readers about up and coming or lesser known brand? After all, we can get info about Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, etc from many sources. Anyway, Google is your friend: https://www.finder.com/made-in-usa-handbags-wallets And that’s just a starter list.
I know politics are nuts these days but I can definitely see myself being “Patriotic” with that Gucci Rajah tote! Let’s hear it for the U.S of A!
Wow, I’m surprised you didn’t include the red, white and blue special edition Dior book bag.
Some of these bags are a hit… and definitely a lot miss for me. My favorite was by far the Gucci Queen Margret, although a little name inappropriate for Independence day if you ask me. I also like the Longchamp Roseau Galop but as Sally said definitely Hermes vibes (in fact I had to make a double take because I thought it WAS a crazy Hermes bag – sometimes they do crazy). The worst one on here is definitely the Prada Tessuto, even the stitching looks wonky.
