It seems that nearly every major fashion house has experienced a serious revamp in the last couple of years. From Chloé and Celine to Bottega Veneta and Givenchy, designer shakeups have been the norm in the luxury sector and handbag lovers have begun to accept these changes. Sometimes a designer will take successful elements from their predecessor and ease consumers into the change while others will come in hot and make big changes right out of the gate. Riccardo Tisci at Burberry took the latter approach, with a complete overhaul taking place almost immediately. Some fans recoiled while others rejoiced, and today we’ve got a look at Tisci’s newest handbag design for the brand. Meet, the Burberry Lola Bag.
New for FW 2019, the Lola is described as youthful in spirit and is said to be the little sister of the more structured TB bag. The classic Lola is crafted of quilted lambskin leather and comes in two sizes, small ($1,490) and medium ($1,790). As an ode to self-expression, Tisci designed the bag to be worn multiple ways. It can be slung over the shoulder, worn crossody, or hand carried as a clutch. Finishing details include the, now iconic, Thomas Burberry ‘TB’ hardware and a polished chain strap. Burberry bags are not made well so I would never purchase another one. Also, this bag is hideous, and I’m being kind.
Indeed. Review the secondary market for pre-owned Burberry bags and see straps that have come unsewn, missing studs, etc. For the kind of money one would pay for a Burberry bag,one should expect durability as well as style.
I haven’t seen a Burberry bag in the wild for a while….let’s hope that it continues to stay that way.

Agreed! I’m trying to be objective and understand what other’s find appealing about a bag that looks like a breakfast waffle, has words written all over it, and is designed in garnish colors! I don’t understand, but maybe that’s ok. However, I love their coats, which are very nice. Perhaps they should stick to what they do best!
I like what Burberry is doing. Burberry has experience some revenue growth in the 2nd quarter of the year. I’m clearly not the only one buying. And remember to each their own. 🙂
I like the black and white
“TB?” To Be continued?? Dislike the huge metal logo. The black & white version is a definite no-go (reminds me of Vuitton’s Supreme line with the very loud, “shouting” printed logo word). But I rather like the cherry/orange sherbet color combo for summertime fun, although not at that price point. It looks as though the chain strap is too short for comfortable crossbody wear, but then the model likely is 6′ tall. I like the quilting — at least from as much as the pics show — though it reminds me of leather rockstuds from Valentino. Seems like a mishmash of other designers’ styles. Wouldn’t buy, at least not these two models.
Burberry needs to get rid of the TB unless they like being confused for the contemporary fashion house Tory Burch. Burberry seems to want to step down with the new logo, style, and aesthetic. Poor choice. They’re going to make themselves obsolete. From British prim and fashion to TJ Maxx they go…
