Late last year, Burberry introduced fans to a new, exclusive way to snag Burberry product. This initiative, called #TheBSeries, releases new product once per month. Each product drops for sale on the 17th of every month, and in the days prior, Burberry hints at each upcoming release on its social media channels. Once the product is live, consumers can shop it for 24 hours only via the brands social channels.
When news first broke that Riccardo Tisci would be implementing this new tactic, it was unclear if these drops would include anything other than RTW. Well, we now know that the Burberry BSeries will include accessories as well. For its 5th release, Burberry introduces fans to a brand new bag called The Title Bag.
The Title Bag is shown in beautiful black textured leather with gold riveted hardware. Though the hardware is etched with ‘Burberry’, this is the first BSeries drop that isn’t emblazoned with Burberry’s new large ‘B’ logo. Burberry hints that this bag is part of the Title Bag collection, which launches for SS19, but it is unclear if this exact model will be available for sale again come summer. The Title Bag launches on February 17th.

This is a strange tactic for them – IMO they don’t have the brand clout or covetability to essentially be running “flash sale”-like promos (without the sale prices ofc), and they’re not quite at the right price point (I would imagine this working better for brands at the Mansur Gavriel price point, for instance). But who knows, they know the business of fashion better than I do, haha. Gonna keep an eye on this to see how it goes
Burberry is under the radar especially outside Europe and I think that’s the way they like it. The price point is where it should be IMO – Burberry makes great bags and there’s no LV-Chanel type of talk about exclusivity and all, which means hiking the prices up and having serious quality issues at the same time.

I’ve been so tired with these houses recently. If I find myself liking something it’s usually because it’s a timeless bag with a new twist on it.
I just thought that it would look even better without the three gold studs/buttons! 🙂
