My preferences tend toward darker lip colors, and although I’m happy to wear them all year, fall and winter is when they’re easiest to work into a makeup look (and, it must be said, when they won’t melt off my face on a subway platform). Now that the weather is crisping up a little bit, of been busy planning my fall beauty expenditures, and the lipsticks below are at the top of my list.
Bobbi Brown Rich Chocolate Lipcolor in Berry
$27 via Macy’s
First things first: this is a great option for day for a variety of skin tones.
Christian Louboutin Velvet Matte Lipstick in Djalouzi
$90 via Net-a-Porter
My favorite reds are those that edge toward dark brown, and this new entrant to that genre looks perfect.
Dolce & Gabbana Matte Lipstick in Desire
$37 via Macy’s
This shade of dark red is a catch-all evening color; it’ll glam up anything you’re wearing to a party instantly.
Lancôme Rouge in Love in Fiery Attitude
$29 via Macy’s
The product photo for this shade is misleading; the actual color payoff is a surprisingly wearable dark purple.
Laura Mercier Lip Parfait Creamy Colorbalm in Crème de Cassis
$25 via Macy’s
Speaking of surprisingly wearable purples: this one is a bit sheer when applied.
MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Good to Be Bad
$18 via Macy’s
We all need a little bit of brightness sometimes, right?
The Dolce & Gabbana caught my eye. The price of that Louboitin lipstick is so ridiculous that I can’t take it seriously. I don’t care about the packaging. Put it in a regular tube and charge $50.
Love this post!! Please do more like this but even more makeup. Wonderful lip shades, my eye is on the Christian Loubition lipstick or the Lancome Rouge in Love, divine!! Has anyone tried IT Cosmetics lipsticks? They’re fabulous on and have major staying power, fyi. 🙂
