Balenciaga just dropped its latest campaign and we’re giving you a look at every image from this new lookbook. This beautiful campaign celebrates love in its very many forms, and gives us a first look at what is to come from Balenciaga this fall. Leather shoppers were seen throughout the campaign, and though they could easily be mistaken for unisex, they appeared to come in a men’s version and a women’s version. The teeniest shopper bag was worn with a cross body strap.
The most interesting new shape is a structured top handle flap bag with a bold ‘B’ hardware detailing hanging from the closure. This bag is a welcome change to the mini bags of the moment, and the images showcase the new bag in a beautiful red hue as well as a grey embossed croc. A large quilted bag is shown as well which appears to be a new direction for the brand. View the images below or check out the look book here.

I like the concept of the photo shoot. But the clothes and shoes were A LOT to take in. Not feeling the grocery bag look tote. Way too much money for a leather reusable tote.
Beautiful campaign and so low-key compared to the Gucci-extravaganza trend. This is kind of peaceful and inviting. I like the clothes and accessories: feels true to the brand.
I really love what Balenciaga is doing right now. The oversized coats and jackets, the shoes, the bags. I want everything!
Lovely campaign. Every item being displayed is hideous though.
I love the embossed gray bag in photo 2…but the strap is much too thin for a bag that large. It’s a strap you put on a mini bag or wallet on a chain, not a full-sized bag that should be able to carry a wallet, pouch, keys, maybe an iPad, etc. It also doesn’t look adjustable. The curve at the bottom reminds me of the limousine cases from Moynat. I like the black leather coat in photo 7 and the two patterned wool (? cashmere?) coats in photos 12 and 13. The quilted bag in photo 9 is too derivative. Looks like someone took a jumbo Chanel flap bag and stuck a B on it.
Yeah, I was disappointed by the strap on the grey bag! I love the shape of the bag itself though.
The products do nothing for me, but the campaign is beautiful!
That recycled Whole Foods bag thing is hilarious. Their shopping bag bags are funny too. Very strange designs for the bags. The quilted bag reminds me (of course of the Chanel Classic) of the Alexander Wang Halo bag with just an A on the front. Very cute campaign. It’ll do well with trend following people I suppose. I can’t see a lot of these things in people’s wardrobes that like classic pieces. Maybe separately? I do like the new Sharp bag.
Not feeling any of this. The campaign and bags are too low key and unimaginative.
Love, love, love!! Those oversized coats….*swoon*!!
The bags don’t do much for me but the shoot itself is beautiful and the outerwear/jackets are all STUNNING! Especially loove the lime coat in #1, red leather jacket in #5 and the houndstooth in the last slide.
the coats and jackets are very balenciaga…architectural and tailored. it’s the aesthetic that is hard to digest but beautiful campaign nevertheless.
Forgot to include bags in the celebration.
Alienating older buyers, one campaign at a time
Exactly, us “older buyers” don’t buy bags, shoes, clothes, etc. right? ?
Right! What age group cannot wear a pleated skirt, a red leather jacket, a black leather wrap coat, a hounds tooth print coat?? I love the oversized coats in the greens. I am not in my 20’s any longer and I would wear just about everything here? I am having a difficult time trying to figure out what you must wear.
I’m speaking in generalized terms re: that many campaigns utilize young models for their products and many products are geared towards younger women. You list mostly coats in your post and most women can wear these, which I don’t dispute. Also, the black pants, suits and purple skirt, perhaps in more affordable campaigns, can be worn by most women. However, the majority of ads for clothes, shoes and handbags are geared towards younger women. If you seriously look at ads for these products you will understand what I am referencing. Also, I know my style and how to dress myself, but I appreciate your concern re: you are “having a difficult time trying to figure out what “I” must wear”.
I love the diversity of models in the ad. I like a lot of the coats. Not crazy about the bags.
