As Alexander Wang’s line grows and grows, he shows fewer and fewer bags on the runway, much to my dismay. Alexander Wang Fall 2012 yielded enough accessories for us to get an impression of what we should expect come fall, but too few to really satisfy my curiosity as a Wang fangirl. I’ll be waiting impatiently for images of the full line to emerge.
Until then, it seems like we’re in for a little bit of Wang by way of Louis Vuitton, at least where the runway bags are concerned. Big, crisp duffels and smaller clutches alike sported locks and clochettes that were more reminiscent of the great French accessories houses than Alexander Wang’s particular brand of downtown cool. A more complete look would have been nice, but my interest is piqued and I’m looking forward to seeing the entirety of what Wang does with the somewhat foreign elegance of these handbags.
I think Wang has officially lost his urban edge……
My FAVE style of all time. Though I cannot afford such a high end bag, I have a few that come close. LOVE LOVE and LOVE!!!
No way AW can reach LV or Celine or Chloè or Valextra. Very far away and in this way he risks to loose his personal touch. I don’t like these new bags (and the old ones too). It would be better to perceive the rock-way of the punk one. Could be an idea…
Alexander Wang styles always found to be so attractiveÂ
Love them all, especially the white ones in the first and second pictures. Classy and elegant. Now on my wish list.
wow. i am actually bored by these.
They are fabulous!!!!
Aesthetically, they are nice, but I don’t think they have the same function his typical customer needs. These are for the lady who carries virtually nothing at all. I’m just a little sad. There was an opening in the urban-chic market and he took it, but now it seems he is abandoning his fan base (perhaps I am being a bit too dramatic about handbags…).
Well, the thing with Wang is that he only shows a tiny bit of his full accessories collection on the runway. He knows his customer very well, I’m sure there’ll be plenty of options for us when the full line is revealed.
Sorry, Amanda; but this collection is just “meh”.
No need to apologize to me, they’re not my bags! 🙂
I like the black doctor style bag… it is classy, but I don’t know if it is youthful…
These are pretty horrible. They’re like the ugly stepchild of the Celine AW Runway 2011 bags (which were also quite bad).
Absolutely agree!Â
I love the white bags..Â
