We warned you at the beginning of March that embellished, statement-making straps were a nascent trend, and now the world’s biggest luxury brand has lent the look its seal of approval. Louis Vuitton just launched a line of sold-separately Bandoulière Straps, and compared to brands of comparable caliber, they’re actually pretty well priced. (Not to mention, attractive and functional.)
Louis Vuitton’s strap come in a handful of fabrications and start at $495 for monogram canvas with a contrasting solid color on the opposite side. The next most expensive option is dual-tone Epi leather, which will set you back $560, and the line tops out with python at $890. For comparison, Fendi’s straps start at $750 for leather and $1,150 for python, and Valentino’s embroidered textile straps start around $1,000. While I will stop short of calling Vuitton’s a “good deal,” they certainly represent one of the better values in this burgeoning product category.

Well well well, I must say FENDI has been leading the trend for the last few years and LOUIS VUITTON has become more of a follower. From the tribal faces (monster eyes from FENDI), micro bags to straps, it would be nice to see LOUIS VUITTON leading the way again. Oh well, maybe in the future, right now they still have the trunks and monogram to milk on.
I like numbers 2 and 7. I guess that everyone is jumping on the bandwagon because Rebecca Minkoff has the straps now as well.
I just wish they were cheaper. I love the concept, but I’m not about to spend as much on a strap as I would on a wallet or bag.
i agree
You need to remember that they are both owned by LVMH. So they are supposed to compliment each other, not really compete. imho
I’m all over them like a fly on $hit
They look great! I am mos def pouncing on one of these.
