You’ll Be Obsessed With These Perfect Shoe and Bag Pairs

These bags have definitely found their sole-mates!

Some things just fit together to make a perfect pair. Wine and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, Sunday and brunch, and my personal favorite: shoes and bags. I am in the market for a new pair of shoes, especially because I haven’t bought a new pair since last summer! I am way overdue for a new pair, and with the temperature rising now that spring has finally arrived, I’m ready to retire my boots and purchase some new shoes for the warmer weather. I’m not a matchy-matchy person and I tend to pick shoes, clothes, and jewelry that complement my bags rather than match them perfectly. I once saw a woman in head to toe orange and I’m fairly certain that is where my aversion to dressing overly matchy began. I’ve been stalking the shoe section on all of my favorite sites, and have found more than a few pairs that are definitely on my wish list. As a bag lover, I’ve been thinking about the perfect bag to wear with each pair. I think a new bag and perhaps a few pairs of shoes are about to be in my future!

I’ve listed the shoes on my wish list and their perfect bag counterparts below. What about you? Do you have any shoes and bag combos you can’t live without?

Gucci Princetown Floral Canvas Mules ($790)

I haven’t been able to wear mules all winter because my feet slip out when I’m wearing tights, so this colorful floral pair from Gucci are calling my name for spring. These pretty mules are feminine and fun, perfect for a sunny day outside. I’d pair them with a linen dress and the Tod’s mini Bauletto satchel in the pretty yellow color. I love that the yellow Tod’s bag would complement the yellow flowers on the Gucci mules without being matchy-matchy.

Tod’s Mini Bauletto Leather Satchel ($1,995)

Chloé Lauren Ombre Ballet Flats ($575)

These colorful Chloé flats are giving me life. I love the bright, eye catching colors and think the bright ombre looks so cute with the scalloped detail of the Lauren style flats. I would pair these with the beige Balenciaga city bag because a neutral hued bag would let the shoes shine but the city style still packs a punch of style and personality. I can see myself wearing the flats and city bag with a pair of skinny jeans and a flowy top. I’d top it off with an oversized pair of sunglasses and be happily on my way.

Balenciaga Small City Bag ($2,160)

Eileen Fisher Boost Leather Platform Sandals ($235)

I absolutely love these funky, futuristic Eileen Fisher platforms. Despite the fact that they are super high, giving you over 3 inches of height, they look incredibly comfortable. I really like that these could be dressed up or down and I would rock them with jeans, a skirt, or a dress. I’d pair these with an edgy hobo, and the MCM Klara Hobo is a perfect contender. The MCM Klara bag is right on trend with the return of the hobo, making it a perfect bag to add to your wardrobe and pair with the Boost sandals from Eileen Fisher.

MCM Klara Large Monogramed Hobo ($765)

Birkenstock Gizeh Thong Sandal ($99)

I love Chloé bags for their bohemian aesthetic. The Birkenstock Gizeh thong sandal matches the casual, unstructured look of the beautiful Marcie bag so well. Birkenstocks are world renowned for their comfort, and I personally think they look super cute with jeans, leggings, or a flowy dress. I was so pumped when the Birkenstock trend emerged on the scene a few years ago, I hope it never goes away. If they’re good enough for Fixer Upper star Joanna Gaines, they’re good enough for me.

Chloé Marcie Large Leather Bag ($2,090)

Adidas U Path Knit Sneakers ($85)

I’ve mentioned my love of the athleisure trend before and these Adidas U Path sneakers fit the bill. I can see myself not only working out in these, but also throwing them on when I’m out and about running errands or at the airport, a place I find myself often these days. I love to carry my Louis Vuitton Neverfull with me when I’m on the go, so I could defintiely see myself pairing these sneakers with any of my Neverfulls (yes, I own all 3 canvas prints!).

Dolce & Gabbana Floral-Print Jeweled Sling Back Pumps ($845)

Proving that fashion is truly cyclical, kitten heels are back. Since I’m not a big heels gal, I for one am thrilled to see the rise of kitten heels again. I’d pair these Dolce & Gabbana floral kitten heels with a voluminous A-line skirt, button up blouse, and the Givenchy GV3 in the dark green color, complementing the leaves of the floral print on the heels. Givenchy can do no wrong in my eyes lately, and the brand’s bags are dominating my wish list these days.

Givenchy GV3 Small Pebbled Leather Crossbody ($2,190)

Schutz Soraya Leather Wedge ($170)

I love the clean, sleek lines of these Schutz wedges. The bright pink color speaks to me on a deep level, as I like to channel my inner Elle Woods every single day. I would pair them with an all-white outfit and with this perfect black Margit bag from Prada. The Margit bag shares the minimalistic aesthetic of the wedges, making them a perfect pair in my eyes.

Prada Small Margit Shoulder Bag ($1,190)

Dolce Vita Cait Slides ($100)

Animal prints are always at the top of my radar, and I love these cheetah print slides from Dolce Vita. Casual yet elegant, I could see myself wearing these all spring and summer long. I’d pair these fun slides with the Gucci Marmont camera bag. There is no denying that camera bags are having a serious moment and I’d love to see the quilted version of the classic handbag shape paired with the playful animal print of the slides. I’d throw on the slides with a denim skirt, grab the Gucci, and head to the nearest beach town for the day.

Gucci Marmont Camera Bag ($980)

Marc Jacobs Bow Sling Back Pumps ($450)

These Marc Jacobs bow sling backs are giving me serious Carrie Bradshaw vibes and I am loving it! I would pair these show stopping shoes with a minimalistic bag, as I wouldn’t want any other component of my outfit to overshadow the shoe. I am loving this Kate Spade wallet on a chain mini bag in pale gold to pair with the shoes. There is just something so dreamy about pairing light pink and gold together.
