The Half-Moon Shaped Bag is Seriously Underrated

Why aren't we talking more about this shape?

A few years ago I got a Chloé Georgia Bag as a gift and I immediately fell in love with its unique shape and details. While the Georgia Bag wasn’t a huge hit for the brand, and I eventually did sell mine (it was blue and I barely used it), I often think about that bag. If it had been black, tan or even a nice red I would have never parted with it. Something about the shape was just so different and I liked how it was both linear and curved at the same time. And while the half-moon shaped bag is nothing new, it’s seriously underrated in my opinion.

The half-moon bag is a great alternative to the circle bag trend, which is everywhere this spring. And while there are plenty of half-moon bags on the market right now, I can’t help but wonder why the half-moon shape isn’t a full fledged trend. Chloé‘s Nile Bag is an incredibly popular example of this bag, and Wandler has a whole line-up of half-moon bags—I think they are on to something. It’s interesting that many of the half-moon bags available right now are from contemporary or more indie bag brands. Some of our favorite premier designers like Ferragamo, Loewe and Saint Laurent have caught on, but what about the other big guys (think Chanel, Gucci, Fendi etc.)? I have to wonder why they’re yet to explore this unique shape. I myself am totally here for it and below I’ve rounded up 10 styles for you shopping pleasure!
