I was at my local Ulta last night, shopping for a new pedicure color (a nice hot orange–Riveting by China Glaze) and I saw a display of holographic nail polishes (don’t remember the brand) so yep, seems to be a trend that’s coming.

    • Holo nail polishes are my favorite. They’re generally very forgiving to apply, dry quickly and wear well, not to mention that they look absolutely bonkers on your nails. China Glaze did a big holo collection a few years ago before it was super trendy and I spent an asinine amount of money (for nail polish) buying up a few colors on eBay last year. Milani also makes fun, cheap holos, and you can find them at most drug stores.

Thanks for your tip I ended up getting a opi nikki minaj color “save me” its silver with large holographic strips in it! I can’t wait to use it :-)

I posted before I think Theyskens’ Theory did this for their show last Spring. I found a pic.

    • That Theyskens’ Theory collection is linked in the post!

    Holographic? No, more like Horror-graphic.

The trend is big enough that it even extends to Men’s fashion. Anyone who saw the Burberry show from the recent London Menswear Fashion Week saw the huge theme of metallic/holographic materials.

Ehh, maybe shoes. I just bought Butter London knackered which is a little holographic but also glittery. I’m not feeling pants or bags though.
