Boho is undoubtedly back, and few trends go hand-in-hand with boho quite like fringe.
First, returning to the runway for the fall 2024 season, the spring 2025 season further proved that fringe was indeed back. While the boho aesthetic’s return has been powered by Chemena Kamali’s Chloé, fashion as a whole has largely been referencing not only 90s fashion but also 70s fashion.
This, of course, means fringe. Though the use of fringe in fashion dates back to ancient times, in modern times, fringe was first synonymous with the flapper era of the 1920s and later repopularized in the 60s and 70s.
Fresh Fringe
Undeniably one of fashion’s most fun trends, fringe also happens to be one of the most divisive. Many handbag lovers fall into one of two camps: love or hate. This season, fringe isn’t just reserved for bags; on the runways, it was a major presence in designers’ RTW collections as well, but we’re, of course, here to focus on the bags.
Fringe is being embraced this season in a wide variety of ways, from lush suede that will transport you straight back to the 70s to chained fringe, leather, and more, whether you prefer a more casual fringe for the everyday or a unique piece with a touch of sparkle, this season, you’ll find it.
When it’s done right, fringe feels cool and fun. Are you ready

It seems outdated and messy
Let’s say, whoever gonna carry the Stella McCartney fringe bag, need to be very careful with escalator. LOL
Hahaha exactly what i was thinking…fringe and clumsy people like me are a bad combination
Final destination
Seems to me designers keep trying to push fringe and for the most part not successful! Can anyone recall a fringed bag that we all loved?
Chanel had a few in the Dallas collection that were tempting.
