Vlad got me into the hit television show CSI. We watch the Vegas version, NYC version, and at some times attempt to take in the Miami version (just for Horatio’s slow sunglasses removal technique). No matter how outrageous the CSI lab techniques seem, I am always intrigued. And one of the most integral parts of solving a crime is finding finger prints.
Suede bags are hard to maintain, but can still give a great soft touch with a hint of fall and winter to the right bag. Yves Saint Laurent proves that with the YSL Suede Sac Trench, which has a tan suede body offset by contrasting leather whipstitching. And you know what? I totally love it. (more…)
A couple readers have emailed me to ask about this YSL bag. While it is very easy to immediately see that this is a Yves Saint Laurent bag, I had a hard time finding more information on this bag. Like the season it is from, are there more being produced, and why it is so utterly-absolutely-fabulous?!
The YSL logo produced by buckles is so ultra-chic I am having a hard time getting this image out of my own head. Clearly the dude carrying this bag (most likely photographed outside of some fashion week show) knows a sporty cool style when he sees one. Now this bag is the envy our our readers and myself. I am so happy to see such an edgy sleek design from YSL and happy to know additional dimensionality can be given without putting chains under the leather to create an unsettling worm-like effect.
So take a look at the Yves Saint Laurent Buckle Bag and not only tell us what you think but also tell us if you know any additional info. (more…)
Yesterday, Yves Saint Laurent relaunched YSL.com with a fresh assortment of iconic YSL products that are exclusive to their online store. Many of the products are never-before-seen in boutiques, but we have the inside scoop on some of the items hitting the site.
Yves Saint Laurent have perfected many techniques, one being embossed sueded crocodile fabrications. I have been a long time fan of this process, as YSL has found a way to make it look luxurious and authentic, without being forced. (more…)
It is time for the 6th edition of the YSL Manifesto, which will be hitting the streets of NYC today! The worldwide release will be Saturday, February 20th, in the streets of Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and for the first time, Berlin.
This Manifesto was photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin under the creative direction of Stefano Pilati. The manifesto will showcase Natalia Vodianova in the Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2010 collection. (more…)
The biggest release from YSL in the past few years was the Roady, which launched last September. The Roady is an utterly simple design that brings in an added touch which bumps up the aesthetic. I know many of you did not like just how simple the original Roady was, so this post will bring you nothing more than the first. But if you loved the Roady and you love having a spring bag in your collection, the Yves Saint Laurent Linen Roady may be for you. (more…)
The YSL Roady was one of the most coveted bags of the season alongside the Alexander Wang Coco Duffel among others. Yves Saint Laurent added the Roady to their group of bags and this simple hobo became an instant hit.
Celebrities and handbags lovers alike began sporting this bag. Now YSL has an opportunity for all of you who love the Roady but did not purchase your own yet. In both NYC and LA customers will be able to customize their YSL Roady from now through December 1st, 2009.
With so many handbags on the market, there are always options that can give you a look you love for less. Let’s face it, we don’t all have endless handbag budgets all the time. We have already given you a studded clutch option for less and a Chanel option for less. Now it is time to give you a Leather Hobo Look for Less. (more…)
We may be in the midst of Fall and Winter right now, but all I can think about are spring bags. We are finishing up our week in NYC and have been previewing some of the most amazing spring collections I have seen in a long long time. Two trends we are seeing that I am loving are a tye-dye-like effect (Bottega Veneta and Rebecca Minkoff) and perforation (YSL and Rebecca Minkoff again).
Perforated leather. We saw Louis Vuitton do this a few seasons back and there seem to be a resurgence. I have to admit I was unsure of perforated leather, but then I saw it in person. When perforated leather is added to a handbag it gives a subtly athletic vibe, adding a slight dimension and effect that helps the leather stand out. (more…)
Yves Saint Laurent is loving the chain under leather look for this season. First we saw all the celebs crushing on the YSL Roady. The Roady of choice for many of the celebs and customers alike is the black leather with metal chain insert. And that version of the YSL Roady has a very familiar feel to this YSL bag.
The Yves Saint Laurent Nappa Leather Clutch mixes chunky chain metal hardware with sleek gray leather. There is an optional shoulder strap which is always a nice touch. To go hand held or shoulder strap is the question? Sometimes I like to use the optional shoulder strap as a wristlet handle. I know, so bold and daring. Back to this YSL bag. (more…)
