I’ve never been married, but I do compulsively watch all of TLC’s wedding-themed reality shows, so I’ve developed quite a few opinions on wedding fashion. First, a bride should do pretty much whatever she wants, …

Wedding Clutches

If my Facebook and Instagram feeds from this past weekend are any indication, wedding season has officially arrived. If you’re ill-prepared for the festivities you’ll face over the next few months, you’re probably not alone …

Megs and I recently gave you guys a rundown of the season’s best wedding bags, both traditional and quirky, but there’s one little clutch that we didn’t include because we couldn’t decide which category it …

Yesterday, Megs mentioned that it’s wedding season and gave us a great rundown of what a bride looking for a traditional feel should carry on her wedding day. I had just started working for PurseBlog …

Wedding season is upon us! Since I grew up in Florida, I didn’t realize how big a deal wedding season was for those living in more temperate climates. There’s a true wedding season outside of the tropics, though, and it is just about to begin. Every bride has her own style and own ideas for the perfect wedding; some prefer a fairytale, some want an outrageous event and others simply want something traditional.

The wedding dress tends to be the most important aspect of every bride’s wardrobe followed closely by her shoes, but I don’t want any bride to forget the importance of a chic handbag. I carried my Hermes Kelly Longue on my wedding day and used it in many of our wedding photos in place of flowers. (Yes, I am that obsessed with bags.)

If you consider your style more traditional, here are nine amazing wedding options for you! (more…)

It’s officially March (where has the year gone?), which means that we’re inching closer and closer to wedding season and there’s lots of wedding planning in full swing. Naturally, we’re most interesting in what kinds of wedding bags people are choosing, and if you’re gettin’ hitched and have yet to decide on yours, we’ve got some good news. One of our favorite nuptial-appropriate clutches in recent memory, the Valentino Floral Applique Satin Clutch, is on sale on The Outnet for a full 70% OFF. Yep, you read that correctly.

That means that on your big day, you can carry a $2500 clutch for a little less than $800. Put the savings toward having an open bar; your guests will thank you. Buy through The Outnet for $748!

I’ve never planned a wedding, but as I understand it, the process seems to turn many mild-mannered women into raging, clawing, howling Bridezillas. The ones who don’t morph, Hulk-like, into wedding monsters have nervous breakdowns. And as someone’s who’s rather detail-averse (as opposed to being detail-oriented, which is what it says on my resumé. Lies!), I can understand why; if I had to try and wrangle that many different facets of an event at once, I’d probably need to be carted off to the loony bin too.

For any of you in the throws of the process, I have at least one thing that you can mark off your list: a wedding bag. The Valentino Floral Appliqué Satin Clutch is perfect for a warm-weather ceremony and will look marvelous in the stylized accessory photos that everyone seems to be taking these days. If you’re going to have one of your handbags documented for posterity on one of the most important days of your life, make sure it’s a fabulous one. (more…)

There are plenty of designers whose entrance to the wedding-bag market might seem counterintuitive: Rick Owens, Maison Martin Margiela, Commes des Garcon. (Although I’d personally love to see what all of those companies would do with the genre.) Judith Leiber? That company definitely not among them. In fact, the question shouldn’t be, “Why is Leiber entering the wedding market now?” but, “Why didn’t it make this totally obvious decision decades ago?”

Exceptionally few people can rationalize the purchase of one of Leiber’s tiny, crystal-encrusted minaudieres. Even some women who could potentially afford them don’t go to the kind of events that would allow one to carry, say, a miniature, glittering dachshund. But a wedding, the most formal (and some would say most important) day in a woman’s life, just might provide the perfect opportunity to purchase a very special little handbag. (more…)
