For the most part, I’ve always considered Bottega Veneta to be a classic, iconic brand. The intrecciato weaving technique is one that can be spotted from across the room or even across a busy street. Personally, it is the classic element of the brand that I love and have come to always expect.

Now, just because there are certain things I expect from a brand like Bottega Veneta does not mean that I cannot appreciate when they think and design a little bit out of the box. Certainly, in order for the design to work, what has *made* the brand what it is needs to be upheld and visible at some point. Thankfully, in this instance, BV tried something a little different and it worked. (more…)

Pour La Victoire designs admittedly awesome shoes; from tweaked gladiator sandals to cutout booties, they’re all exceptionally cool. Whenever I stare at their selection on Shopbop, which is often, it’s clear to me that everything they design is gold. But not so fast, Anna. Not so fast.

I wasn’t aware that they were designing handbags as well until I spotted this Pour La Victoire Brown Studded Leather Megan Large Hobo. I’m a bit disappointed, to say the least. This is not the first time we are seeing Valentino using a bow with their handbag design. In fact, I am not finding fault with the bow design, in fact, I am quite a fan of it. However, I actually didn’t even see the bow at first with this bag. Instead I was a tad overwhelmed with all of the studding. We’ve gone back and forth for months now about the use of studding on handbags. Yet, this is the first one that actually stands up and says, “love me or hate me, you WILL notice me”. (more…)

I first came across Hammitt Los Angeles handbags while working over on our sister site, BagThatStyle. If you frequent that site, you know that we often post about celebs from Gossip Girl. And, if you are a Gossip Girl fan, I wouldn’t be surprised if you might be able to guess which character carried a leopard print Hammitt Los Angeles bag on the show. If you guessed Jessica Szohr, you were right. So, as soon as I saw her carry the Hammitt Los Angeles Westwood Leopard-Print Calf Hair Satchel, I began to look around a bit more and investigate the line. (more…)
