Every handbag lover out there has a different taste. While this means so many of us can be on complete opposite ends of the interest spectrum, it means that designers are pushed to create a plethora of designs for us. So, no matter what you like, we all win!

And as someone who spends more hours than most staring and evaluating handbags, I can appreciate the quality of a bag even if I would never be caught dead carrying it myself. However, there are times, when for the life of me, I cannot decide if I like a bag or not. This Versace bag fits that category perfectly. (more…)

I’m beginning to sound like a broken record player, so forgive me. But, crossbody and bucket bags are all the rage this season as well as seasons to come. So, it is no surprise that I have yet another crossbody bag to share with you. I don’t know about you, but there is something about a simplistic bag that makes me so happy. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love a great eccentric bag as much as the next person, but there are days when I want a great bag without a lot of fuss. Thankfully, Treesje is a brand that continues to bring me bags I cannot get enough of. (more…)

It is no shock that I’m a Rebecca Minkoff fan. In fact, looking back on past RM posts I’ve written, almost all of them are positive. I’ve recently been obsessing over the Easy Rider Date Clutch. I mean, I’ve been obsessing over it so much that I am shocked that I haven’t bought it yet. Perhaps that is something I should put on my “to-do list”. For those of you who liked that clutch but are in the market for something a bit bigger, Rebecca Minkoff has something for you. (more…)

Pour La Victoire designs admittedly awesome shoes; from tweaked gladiator sandals to cutout booties, they’re all exceptionally cool. Whenever I stare at their selection on Shopbop, which is often, it’s clear to me that everything they design is gold. But not so fast, Anna. Not so fast.

I wasn’t aware that they were designing handbags as well until I spotted this Pour La Victoire Brown Studded Leather Megan Large Hobo. I’m a bit disappointed, to say the least. Though the shape is nice, when paired with the massive size of the bag it becomes unruly and overbearing. It weighs four pounds- need I say more? (more…)

I know what you’re going to say: that this Treesje looks like it’s being grasped from the sides by long, mechanical fingers, probably belonging to some incredibly fierce future android. Oh, what’s that? That wasn’t what you were going to say? I see. Well, that’s what I imagine the bag as, so clearly I have a strange mind. (more…)

I’m not too familiar with Olivia Harris, but from the looks of her selection on Bloomingdales.com, I really should be. We’ve covered the designer here on PurseBlog Savvy before, but the Olivia Harris Studded Lambskin Crossbody Bag deserves its own post. (more…)

This could potentially be love at first sight. The Sara Berman Decca Midi Studded Shoulder Bag was welcomed with open arms by little ol’ me. The bag is classified a shoulder bag but also possesses so many hobo-like qualities, which of course, I love. But, it’s not just the shape, nor is it the color, in fact, it’s not any one thing that has me loving the bag. All in all, every single aspect comes together for a harmonious execution of a handbag. We’ve seen so many incarnations of Diane Von Furstenberg’s Hayworth Clutch, and they’ve all incorporated great detailing: the CEO version has thick stitching over a light denim, and a black leather Hayworth has flowers and gold hardware.

This purple Diane von Furstenberg Hayworth Studded Leather Clutch is slightly less overt, but the simple gold studding meshes perfectly with the smooth violet leather. It’ll work equally well with a summer outfit as a spring outfit, adding a bit of glam to that crisp silk summer dress- or sexy evening gown. I’m thinking of it more as a bag for after dark, but as a daytime clutch? I personally find it almost impossible for any purple bag to be unsuited to daylight, so I find it to be quite all right, albeit a bit sophisticated. (more…)

Matt & Nat is another handbag company that has come a long way. When I was first introduced to Matt & Nat bags I have to say, the jury was out. Sure, there were elements of the bags that I liked, but they also seemed a bit boring to me. Ladies and gents, that is no longer the case.

Recent bags from this design team have really impressed me. The Matt & Nat Yacht Studded Bag is rather fabulous, don’t you think? (more…)

I have yet to add a bucket bag to my handbag collection. You have to understand something about me. I love handbags, but, I tend not to splurge very often. If you ask Megs or even Vlad, they will both agree. I stare at things I think about buying and make virtual pros and cons lists. This being said, I’ve never been able to justify the purchase of a bucket bag because I can’t really imagine where I would carry it. That is where I need you to weigh in. (more…)

Each time I see designer name, Lauren Merkin, I think – clutches. I have become so accustom to checking out Lauren Merkin clutches that I almost forget that she designs other handbags too. So, each time I come across something other than a clutch of hers, I am pretty pleased. I’ve been a fan of her clutches for quite some time now, so by default I expect something great from her other bags as well. Luckily, she rarely disappoints me. (more…)

One of the things I really love about working on PurseBlog Savvy is that I get a chance to look at bags that are actually reasonably priced. In addition to this, I come across brands that I’m not familiar with. We are all familiar with brands like Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton or Chanel, but until I had the chance to work on this site, I had never heard of a brand like IRO. Now that I have, I am pretty happy. Granted, I don’t own one of these bags but if I were to, this one might be an option. (more…)
